How to burn down a perfectly good sled

Anybody got a match? Here is a piece of Northwoods garage art, ready for the ultimate meltdown.

Given some of the boredom going on here lately, I thought I would throw out a challenge. Who can guess year/make/model? I have disguised the logo on the dust cover to increase difficulty. Hint: It is a production vintage sled and presented exactly as new from the manufacturer.

Well the wood stove to the right is certainly an antique. As for the sled I haven't a clue, judging by the ski handle I'm gonna go with Arctic Cat. Looking forward to the next picture with the cover off.

The early Polaris TX had a high back like that, I think Polaris had ski handles like that also. Gotta be a Cat or Polaris.

You cut to length on a stop block?...LOL

So your mystery sled ain't nearly that awesome?

Got a mark on my saw's bar to keep me in the ballpark. Trick is... the front side of the stack looks a lot better than the back side! I would trade the mystery sled for the RXL in a heartbeat.

What is the story behind that find?

It was ground up restored for the 2011 Waconia vintage show build-off when Rupp was the featured brand for that year (an Alouette Super Brute won). Found it on vintagesleds.com. Was looking for a '76 Nitro, my very first sled. This was similar but better and rarer. Rupp didn't save production numbers but it is believed 500 Magnums were built in '76 (250/340/440) for homologation and far less than 100 were 250s. It only has break in time on the stand. Some day I might put it on snow and dial in the clutches. Then back to it's perch. It's best as a wallhanger IMO.
