Hey Elf thanks for the pics and updates
How is the wife doing, I believe she ended up with a few stitches from a couple weekends ago (might have been the same weekend you added some "character" to your trick and trailer)?
I knew you would find the deep stuff! I dove off the power line north of Leroy's a couple weeks back, and the top 6-10" is kinda thick and setup. Once you break through it seemed like it was all sugar! (I know this is not an off trail sled, but its still fun to try once in a while!)
This one snuck up and bit me, wasn't prepared for what I found...…
Kevin,
The power lines were good but we found the deepest stuff in the woods and the older clear cut areas. It wasn't as set up in there as the powerlines were.
Well elf, you definitely take home the snorkeling trophy on this run. Sounds like a way better trip than the last. Thinking the temps may have thinned the herd a little on the trails.
We saw a few sleds Saturday, mostly at the Trestle Inn when we had lunch, but on Sunday we only saw one other machine out.
This coming weekend will be a different story I'm sure.
Maybe sledders respected the John Bear Grease and stayed off the NSST - even though I know you don't ride it much.....
We ran a couple miles of the NSST and then looped the Moosewalk, played in a few spots, and stopped in at Leroy's. it was about 2:00 when we swung in there and he said we were his first customers of the day.
The Beargrease wasn't supposed to get to Finland until about 8:00 PM, I just think most people felt it was too dang cold. And it was cold, got a little frostbite on my neck, one hand was froze (broke off a hand guard on Saturday, dang tree!)
