Anybody ride a 129” Polaris XC chassis last year that may have ridden either an original Rush chassis or newer Axys and what they thought of the ride/handling differences?? Did you have a 121” or 136” switchback? Thanks

even today a 129 rush would be the sled to have. Rush is still the best trail sled Poo has.
I have a 2018 121 rush pro s and 2015 137 switchback pro s. between the 2 I think a 129 would be ideal.

I picked up a INDY 800 129" last year and loved the trail mannerism. I previously has numerous 136" Switchbacks from Polaris. I don't think you will notice much difference at all going from a 121 to 129" track. The only time I miss my Switchback is if I find really deep snow off trail.

I switched seat time between a '17 XCR 800(mine) and '19 Indy XC 850(dad's) last year.
I still feel the Rush has more fun factor on the trails with the uncoupled suspension. This is really being picky though! Both are phenomenal trail machines.
Indy does better in the stutters and little more plush. The rush does better in the big whoops. The 850 is a rocket!

Thanks for the input, exactly what I am looking for any differences between the mono-shock vs the XC 129" coupled suspension. I know it's all good just looking for first year 129" opinions.

I had the 18 800 Pro-S in December of 2018 and the 121 was way to short to hang with the guys with the 144's. The *** end was swaying all over the place with 6 inches of new powder in Houghton.

If you ride in WI, you should be ok. The U.P., get the 136 it's only $200ish more and you get it all back at resale time.

fuji's assessment of Wis to the UP is just as I feel. When we started doing the majority of our time riding in the UP, we went to the 136, and never looked back. I would have to say my guess would be the 129 should be hands down better than the 121 in the UP also.

Yeah right....you didn't have it setup correctly, clearly. Spend some time and tune the suspension to your weight and balance. 136-144 are totally unnecessary unless you're off trail.
Just more weight, and handle like boats. I had one 136 inch track, and would never buy one again. The difference in handling in tight sweeping trails is just too much to give up, for the perception of better hook-up. And the fairy tale about resale is just that.

Rider size may matter too, I am 6'3 300lbs. Each of us are different.
I actually bought the Polaris tool to set-up the shocks for my weight.

There are two guys out there (you know who you are) who helped get me unstuck (the worst in my life) north of Houghton last year with their Assault's.

I liked riding the 800 Pro-S near home in Green Bay, that sucker see-sawed like a mug (as advertised), dug in on acceleration and the ski's bit corners on deceleration.
Add real snow though and any 121 is gonna wanna stay home.
I had several 120-121's Rev's since 2003 and loved them (cheap, fun and great resale) but as I started riding north of Watersmeet the Gade had to be considered. Once I found out it was $180 more I bought in.

Hey Bear was that about the time you got cold feet with your Polaris? Joking aside I am considering doing a comparison of a 850 ski doo vs my 850 XC. Know of any deals to be had on one???

What is this set up tool you are talking about and where can you buy from. I have a 2018 Switchback 800 and would like to purchase a tool.

Hi Slim,
Yeah, wet boots dude.. thanks for unstucking me!

All my contacts are sold out of 2019 850's plus rebates are lower than mid/late season.
If sales cycles stay consistent like the past two years, the last day of January 2021 should offer leftover 2020 850 Black Adrenaline Gades for about 10k plus tax and reg.

If we ride this year we can try each others sled if you like, I ordered a 2020 850 X-Gade.

I tried a rubber spanner wrench, tried a steel spanner wrench and ended up getting the one from Polaris dealer for a rip-off $49.
Please call your dealer and they can set you up.
I owned it for a month and gave it to the next owner.

Sorry, Bear

Look forward to it Bear. We need a do over on that ride. Still can't believe that group of youngins didn't even offer to help us. I ordered heavier springs for my XC and we are about the same size so it would be a good comparison. Bring on winter!! Oh and to the OP the uncoupled skid of the rush style allows for on demand wheelies. Even more so on the 121. I find the weight transfer of my XC to be about right. Comes back to the transfer blocks and then stiffens up. The rush skid you had to do that with your body weight. I don't think I will ever be on a 121 again. 129 is great. 121 is great for playing around though.

Rode a 121 rush 800 a solid bit last season awesome trail sled absolutely worthless in any form of powder the susp on the trail is a force ive struggled to compare however jumped on my uncles 129 and was highly impressed. He kept up with my built rev chassis ditch banger with 136 and 2 inch track all day and and wemt places the rush just plain couldnt. . if I had to pick one id go with the 129 hands down. But at the emd of the day it depends on what yiur riding focus is to trails boondocking which ever however but id pick 129. Course I have several dof sleds all with dif purposes.
