Polaris Switchback

Just bought a 2108 Polaris Switchback Pro S 800. Had a dealer suggest that I have the big boy spring installed. Was wandering if anyone my size has any experience with this, or any advice on the matter. I am 6'2" and weigh 235 to 240 fully dressed in riding gear.

Had shorty 18 800 Pro S last year and did not need it at 6'3 288 lbs.
If you need more suspension just adjust the rear shock threads, good luck without the Polaris tool though; pain in the butt.

I think what made the most difference for me was the dual rate front track shock spring. Hygear is the spot. I am about the same size as Fuji. Fts needs help on these I think. I even ordered the dual rate doing for my new xc 850 from hygear. Worth it

Adjusting the spring collar up or down for more preload only changes the ride height. Doesn't change the spring rate at all. If you're too heavy (or light) for a given spring rate, you really just need to change the spring.

2018 spring is a 130 which is right in between the older pro s
120 and pro x 150
Definitely ride the sled first. I think you will be ok at you stats

I thought the 230 was the XCR spring? I have had all three, and I'm about the same weight PLUS full rack and bags setup that I load up for multiple over night trips - the 200 Pro-S spring was pretty soft for me, the 250 spring felt much better. I put the 250 on my XCR, but may try the 230 at some point.

If you are a more aggressive rider, a bigger spring may be in order, otherwise you might be fine.

Sorry. Corrected my first post
Spring rates are 120, 130 and 150.
