Found a Sweet Spot on a New 2020 Tacoma Lease

Been leasing Toyota Tundras for the past year and Wife wanted something new so I looked at the Tacoma.

Check this out..
2020 SR Tacoma Crew Cab 4x4 V-6 with $33,683 MSRP.
2 year lease with 10,000 miles per year with $299 down only $115 a month plus tax.
U.S. Bank lease, Barcelona red metallic only.

The Tundra and Tacoma leases have been around for a while and MUST be with U.S. Bank.
Why? You can roll in any Toyota rebates into the overall lease reducing the cost. Toyota Financial does not allow this.

Dealer discount 11.4%.
Residuals and money factor are where the Tacoma shines; 81% residual for the SR and a money factor of .0110.

You can add miles inexpensively at about 8 cents a mile.

Toyota has Michelin tires (some Bridgestone) on these Tacoma's and they come with Toyota care, no maintenance for 24k miles.

That being said, I have heard some crazy horror stories about leasing through US Bank. Read a bunch of reviews of people getting absolutely assaulted with fees for ridiculous "damages" that should have been considered normal wear and tear. Apparently they use a third party "inspection" service when you go to turn it in? Time will tell. I'm getting close to the end of mine. Hopefully they don't nail me upon turn in!

Yup, gotta keep scratches within the size of a credit card and have less than 5 of them.
I had zero charges on my last Tundra with U.S. at lease end..garage queen tough with the exception of lots of towing.

wow! under $3500 for a truck for two years? If i did not need a HD i would be all over that. Someone call this into Dave Ramsey's radio show and see what he thinks! Just curious what the folks are paying to lease 4 Runners and Tundra's??

I would wait a little longer back in 2008 after the crash my brother purchased a brand new Tundra for only 24k was out the door Sticker was $38k i believe better deals are coming.

Do you know how much the lease price goes up if you do not have a 750 credit score? I had to pretty much max out my cards during the build and move. Have been paying it down and am around 60-65% utilization right now, but credit score has not come up much. No missed payments or anything else impacting the score negatively. Debt to income is also good, can't understand how the score is not higher.

Dave Ramsey won't be supporting a lease of any kind. He's even encouraging businesses not to take the PPP loans, which are forgivable.

Maybe not these days! I'm getting 4 or 5 weeks to the tank. Drove about 300 miles over the past 6 weeks. Typically though do about 15K/year so I agree with you.

I had a Jeep Commander with a V8 for a couple years after my twins were born. Bought it super cheap the first time gas went to $4. Same deal - got about 12 MPG around town but could do 19 on a trip. I swear you could watch the gauge go down while sitting at a stop light. Chrysler V8 with all wheel drive and an unusable 3rd seat made no sense with 3 little kids in Central Indiana...in terms of what I paid vs what I sold it for, it was the cheapest vehicle I ever owned. Basically broke even for 2 years.

Those were awesome tow vehicles!
Wife had a a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Hemi back then.
Hook a covered Triton XT-10-101 with 2 sleds inside and put it in 5th gear and it really never downshifted going 70. Liked towing better than the Chev truck of the same time period for towing.

Those Commandors were an awesome value on the used market when gas was sky high. I remember test driving one and remembering how quick it was and that the elevated back seats were kind of cool. The Dave Ramsey thing was kind of a joke, I respect him and listen to his show but also think he is a little extreme and wrong on some views. I have always wanted to try a Toyota, this might be a good way, thanks Bear
