fuel system cleaner

The 4 stroke Crosstour I purchased, last time it was registered was in 2023 so I am going to assume the fuel has been sitting in it for at least 2 seasons, I don't care if its E-free fuel or what ever kind of treatment it might have in it I plan on draining all of it out and starting with fresh. I would also like to put in first tank some kind of good fuel system cleaner. Is it safe to use something like my favorite automotive additive like Techron? Im not a fan of seafom, just curious what some of you guys might be using or using anything at all. Thanks!

techron is good stuff. you are going to get a ton of different suggestions on what is the best. there are a few sites online that compare them but then half the people question the testing procedure. it's a never ending debate along with the best diesel fuel additive..or not to add anything. I guess do your research and roll with what you believe to be true.

yep agree, I only use diesel additive when gets well below zero and if im in the northwoods where truck could be sitting for 5 days. I have heard the k-100 and I really do like techron, best thing in automotive business, just never used anything in my 2s sleds. just curious what others are using out there. Just one tank as I'm not sure how long for sure it or what's been in there, just want to clean it out.

I have used Lucas diesel/gas additive for the last 15 years. I was a Techron guy but since Lucas can work on diesel and gas I buy it by the gallon. Used on the trucks diesels to lube the fuel pumps and never any issue with any of my diesels.
