Helmet recall

Does anyone have any information on a "Recall" on the Ski-doo oxygen helmet? customer of mine said they were recalling a bunch of them, was going to buy one at a dealer after I told him how much I liked mine and the dealer literally talked him out of it because of all the problems with them, he also said there was a write up in Sno-goer magazine regarding the recall.

I tried researching it, cannot find anything other than recall on a bunch of 509 helmets, we was going to get me the article so we will see.

Wasn't there some type of issue with the heated shields on the Oxygen? My guess is the rumor grew from the shield and not the whole helmet.

I think the heated shields peeled on the first rendition of the O2 helmets but that was years ago. Others during that recall didn’t have a problem so just a few but doo couldn’t tell which helmets so recalled them all back in the day.

Well, 3 year old oxygen helmet and I think it crapped out. Just bought the newer style “flow” shield and got to use it for roughly 1,600 miles this season.
Today it was a little misty out in the mid 20’s and it just kept icing up. The original shield did the same plus fogged up. Ran continuity tests on shield and it is fine. Helmet light works and I feel the head heat but just not getting continuity from the power to the shield.

the heated shield on the oxygen is not meant to melt ice. Only keep it from fogging up. I have one and I was in the same icy crap today on and off and had to use the scraper on my glove half the day. Sure would be nice if a heated shield actually melting ice on the outside of the shield too!

Were you by Gwinn or Arnold yesterday, maybe our paths crossed 🤔. Scrapping did nothing to remove it. When we tested the the contacts from the power on the back to the shield side contacts we got nothing. Online it says the helmet has a 4 year warranty and I believe next week marks 4 years since I purchased it….
Back to the ole Mod 3 today in our attempt to hit 1k miles for the week 😁

yeah....without the scraper on my glove it would have been a bad day as at times was clearing shield every 1000 feet it seemed, but I suppose the shield would have to be mighty hot to melt ice while moving, maybe someone is working on a solution because it would be nice if it did!

So did you guys drive around in the Gwinn ball field (just to be clear, not in the field but on the road vs trail)? When my two buddies and I came through there from Arnold, there were three sleds there, one being a Cat we went around. One sled was facing out (like headed to the Mobil and the other was cruising by the ball field).
