    Walleyes for Tomorrow 2026

Pete, they spear our chain every year, Lac Du Flambeau Tribe. We worked with the DNR this year as they were doing an all out survey of our chain and it was very educational. When Indians spear they typically mostly take male walleyes, reason why is the mating process, the males wait on the...

    Walleyes for Tomorrow 2026

We started netting on Monday this week with the DNR taking the lead as they are surveying our entire chain. Due to water temps in different lakes some females had already spawned, some with green/hard (not ready yet) and others like the 30” 11lb in picture was full of eggs. Along with this one...

    Ice out?

Sweep, I would assume the ice is out on Big St. Germain as ours went out on 4/19 up here in Manitowish.

    And so it starts...

Good for you Brian, just got back from Florida (Siesta Key) yesterday afternoon. Was 34 when we got back. Beautiful sunshine this morning and the clean up list is filled up and piers and lifts go in this week as the ice went out on 4/18 right on time. 85 and sunny, no humidity on the Gulf all...

    Lawn Service; Yea or Nea

This was my place in Oconomowoc, 2 acres, I used Scott’s turf builder and sprayed ortho weed killer. Had a John Deere 54” cut, I found that I needed my 2 hours on mower every week. It was therapeutic.

    Weather for 2026/2027

Brian, my yard work is mainly doing piers, shorestations, etc. Will be doing some cleanup from the Thanksgiving Storm which really brought a lot of stuff down and is still buried, 40 and sun today, rain tomorrow, who knows when ice will go out this year. I'm going to predict we are about two...

Same here Rev, I think I mowed my little patch of grass 4 times last year whether it needed it or not. I like not having any yardwork. When the snow finally melts it will be quite a bit of work cleaning up the mess that Mother Nature left after the Thanksgiving storm that left quite a mess. It's...

    Weather for 2026/2027

Ha, still plenty of snow on the ground here, it's 6 degrees as I speak. Gonna be awhile, but don't have a lot of yardwork to do up here, it's all natural just the way I like it.

    Weather for 2026/2027

Heck, there is still a good 24-30" of ice on the lake at this point. This stuff is not going anywhere soon unless it warms up and rains, it's looking like another May ice out which is at least 2 weeks behind schedule. I'm so ready for nice weather to get here.

    Rumor has it….

Yep, Lots of years making a stop at the Sky View, always nice with the fire burning and the bar was full. Seems like it's just really tough for bars and restaraunts to make it these days up here during the winter, although this winter finally was a boom for them. Hotels up here last season were...

    4-4

Yep, about 2" of sleet, snow, slush here in MW. We did not get as much ice as they said we were going to get, happy about that. No power outages here, although we were ready if it happened. It's going to be awhile before summer gets here but it's sunny on this great day, Easter!

    4-2

We got about an inch of sleet here in MW, it was worse the farther south you went. I am personally happy that we didn't get the ice storm or heavy snow at this date in the Spring. Have to get through another one coming Friday night into Saturday. Not a great start to April.....
