Couple more pics… 95 miles today. Around pine stump it was a little rough heading out, was much better before lunch than after, most of that traffic came up from newberry so we lucked out there since we came from Grand Marais. There was a few spots where you could hear a little gravel, no wet spots, tons of snow for lube, overall extremely pleased for being bare ground a few days ago. Couple less traveled trails on grand Marais system are REALLY REALLY good (888,88,443) We parked 15 minutes north of Seney, I attached a pic, the lot is on the west side of M77. Highly suggest that as starting point, 2-3 times as much snow there as there is in Seney. Seney is unrideable in my opinion. Trail 88 runs east/west, and really should stay north of that. Spending the night in Munising, definitely more snow here than in Seney, and some sleds out and about here, lots of guys riding GM area starting here at my hotel, but we are heading home in the morning but if I were riding tomorrow I would still trailer over to grand Marais’ trail system as they groomed everything Friday night, and Munising won’t run any groomers without more snow. The trails I can see from the road here in Munising look snow covered and rideable but very rough.

We ate in their “outdoor pavilion” area! They built it for when the restaurant overflows. 20x40 pole shed spray foamed inside and heated. VERY warm with picnic tables inside. They have TVs set up in there, and an intercom system. They call your name over the speaker and you walk up to their “drive thru” pickup window. Very cool experience and worked great for us as it saved us time from the typical “dine in” experience.

Outdoor dining was actually built during Covid because Governor Witchmer said you could eat inside as long as it was outside the actual restaurant!

The eastern UP gets it again. It looks like more LES on the way for them through the day today, but, after that, your guess is as good as mine as the forecast is calling for temps in the mid to upper 30's to 40 inland. The tease of winter continues, one day it's here, the next day it's not, abracadabra, hocus-pocus, mother nature just can't focus....

Should find some riding to be had! Assuming Seney was getting some of the LES that was dumping in Munising, it may be rideable by the end of the day. I do know Seney decided to send out the groomers this morning. There was some diehards riding out of Seney yesterday, really doesn’t take many miles north of there before the snowpack doubles! I do know trail 440 going northwest and trail 431 going northeast had enough snow, so If the groomers hit those they should be good to go.
That's funny. I remember having to sign your name to some tracking system so they could contact you in case that restaurant got exposed to the 'vid. I usually signed in as Gretchen Whitmer.

We rode yesterday from the first trailhead up Hwy 77 about 5 miles out of Seney. Rode to Newberry first. I was surprised by the number of sleds we saw heading out of there (probably to Pine Stump and Grand Marias). Headed to T Falls where we learned the trail through Paradise was closed due to a large water hole. We rerouted north then back down through Pine Stump. Headed back to the trailer about 5:00. Put on around 135 miles. The trails were OK, especially early. Quite a few rocks. Some rather scary water hole wash outs between Newberry and TFalls. The falls was beautiful and lunch at the brewery was very good. The trail heading back toward Seney turned largely to dirt by the end of the day. I'm glad we rode when we did. I suspect that some of those trails are no longer rideable today.

Yup, head 5 miles north of Seney, cross the Fox River go up the grade and your in da Snowbelt - really a big difference between Town and few miles north. I'm praying for a March Blizzard, you just never know up there!
