Best tunnel bag?

Looking for opinions on tunnel bag. The zippers are shot on the one on my cat, so I was thinking about trying out one of the doo ones with an adapter. The one/off functionality looks really good. Looking on the doo site, people were complaining the 21L one is too hard to get stuff in and out of it, and people were complaining the 17L one that is easy to get in and out of, lets too much moisture in.

Was also looking at the bca bag today. Looks nice and can be attached with the linq system too.

Guy I ride with put one the catalyst bags on his procross. I'm going to take a look at that too. The adapters aren't too much for it.

I personally have a problem putting another brand onto my Poo. Guess it's the OCD in me. That said, I know Doo makes some great bags and lots of guys use their stuff. If you need a shovel on the sled, the BCA is good for that, otherwise a bit "boxy" in my opinion. One guy I rode with had a problem keeping it attached to the tunnel and it literally was falling off as I was following him (guessing user error more than an issue w/ the bag attachments). I have the very large Polaris bag on the tunnel of my 155. It's great and holds a ton of stuff, but looks like a grandpas sled. My son has the large Burandt bag which looks a lot "cooler" and still holds a fair bit, but not as much as mine. Here's a pretty good pic showing both. You'll notice that the Burandt bag is too long and does not leave space for a gas can if that matters. The other does allow for carry on fuel if needed.

I don't have any great pictures of it but I just bought a hard sided plastic Apache case from Harbor Freight and used the slots in the Polaris tunnel to mount it. Waterproof, solid, lockable. Can't take it off at night like the Linq bags but at $40 its tough to beat.

I have the medium size bag / case from Polaris snaps on and off the tunnel water proof. haven't used it yet.

I’ve got this set up on the back of my skidoo, seems to work pretty decent, what’s nice is you can snap it off at night and take it in with you, one word of caution though…always make sure that your zippers are closed, or you will provide for a scavenger hunt for your fellow snowmobilers behind you, take it from experience from me, it happened, they’d go a few hundred feet. Here’s a glove, another few hundred feet, look a water bottle, another few hundred feet, look a toolkit, Oh well at least they got all my stuff back to me. It’s been years since it happened but they still joke with me about it

One reason I was looking at the linq bags is because I'm getting a doo 900 from a relative as a 2nd sled. Buying it mainly as a family sled but I may end up taking it on longer trips because it saves gas or if I end up replacing my other sled, I'll have this one in the meantime.

I was looking around today. There are a lot of custom linq options people do with pelican cases, etc. using mounts like this that don't cost too much:

Also say doo has a 10L hard case that can stack other bags on top of it. That might be nice for tools spare belt etc and then put a bag on top for clothes and things that come in at night.

Apache case from harbor freight (pelican knockoff) on my mom 14 900 ace renegade. Was on sale for like $30-40 and spent $10-15 on mounting hardware. Previous owner took the linq mounts off, and I drilled thru the case to line up with the linq holes, and the case is raised off the tunnel to clear the cooler by 1.25” with rubber bushings with a hole thru them. Used stainless bolts and locknuts, and siliconed around the bolt head on the inside of the case. Works great!

We have 3-4 LINQ packs and love them (even on 1 Polaris) Like everything power sports related they are overpriced. The posts above are great ideas.

Exact same thing happened to dfattack had a blanket in his Yamaha pack and I couldn’t figure out why there were all these rags on the trail his blanket came out and hung up in his suspension tore into foot square pieces and then the rest of his stuff came out little by little. We did find his foldable shovel but lost a pair of beloved Yamaha leather gloves. Those I didn’t see someone must of copped those the rest of the blanket got pryied out at Krupp’s gas station. Lol

I have the linq sport bag 17L. It's perfect, stores everything I need while on the trail - maps, folding saw, tow rope, extra gloves, tools, etc.

Those were saddle bags zippers that worked their way open. After that I used some wire to twist the two zipper heads together. Never had a problem after that. Now I just use doo hard containers mounted on the tunnel

Not a bag account, but funny and miraculous just the same. Friend’s wife had $450 in her jacket. She forgot to close the zipper. As we were heading south on Lake Gogebic back to the cabin, she lost it all. Since it was close to dark, we couldn’t search. It snowed a little overnight and early next morning we retraced our route on the lake. Eventually found it all——unbelievable.

Check out Sled Solutions. I have his Elevation bag . Paul is a serious rider and designs his bags for carrying all the necessities whether you are a trail or off trail rider. Never wet inside and zippers have worked flawlessly for 10 years. Go to his website and then go to his “E” series products (these are designed and built to his specs).
