Congrats!!! Websters dictionary will have removed "retire" or "retired" as a word when I'm ready! don't think I could ever fully retire anyways. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congrats Elf!! I've been retired for 6 years now. I try to live by the Toby Keith song. "Don't Let The Old Man In" Great Song, great lyrics. I've been a single Dad the last 13yrs. 4 kids 2 are married and have kids of their own. 5 grandkids. Then 1 daughter in college. 1 son living with me, he didn't want college . He started in the trades when he graduated this summer from H.S. He has a great work ethic. I have been very blessed with my family. Sit back and take it all in, Elf.
Had to stop and take a picture this morning of the sea smoke over the lake. Last drive to work for me. Now we just need a bunch of snow!

Congrats on the retirement Elf! It’s been a little over 3 years for me and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to get out of the official workforce. Life is so busy now, that I couldn’t imagine working again. Someone told me once to allow things to settle for at least the first year and avoid making any significant commitments. For me anyway, it was good advice. Enjoy the new life!
Totally agree with being busy in retirement. It seems like there are not many days or weeks that don’t have something going on, all good of course. We just finalized the plans for our cabin rebuild. This will hopefully start in 2027 when I turn 70. I really did enjoy the 60’s, looking forward to the 70’s!
Congratulations! Do what you want and what you can while you can. Also remember, there is nothing wrong with sipping on a cup of coffee for a few hours in the morning watching the sun come up. Same thing for the evening; nursing a cocktail on your patio for a couple of hours while watching a fire in your fire pit.
I'm retired for 4 years this past July and love it!
Congrats on the retirement. I joined that club 10 years ago. Wake up in the morning, don't know what day it is and don't care because every day is a day off. Enjoy it.
