    Retirement Scenario

I 150% agree with your wife comment! If she is not onboard, with anything, even down to buying a sled, it's an uphill battle. I had a very nice log cabin on 5 acres for about 5 years. Admittedly, it was my dream more than hers and that's why it ultimately failed. I had to practically beg to get...

    Retirement Scenario

Northern Wi for me. Living in Kaukauna now. Been looking for a nice 5+ acre parcel for a while and the prices are just going up and up. Hard to stomach them, lots of flippers over the past couple years trying to make a buck. Would be nice to be near a larger city of some sort. Planning on a...

    TIME TO CALL IT ?

Last time I looked at that cam, it was bare ground, maybe a few days ago. The last report I read from 3/18 says not enough to ride.

    TIME TO CALL IT ?

Hard to imagine this time last year we were still riding and this year, my sleds are put away for the season 3 weeks ago. I vote for no more snow this winter, however, I do get that we need the moisture.

    New truck options

Bought a nice 2008 Yukon XL a couple of years ago. Towed my old boat ok but my new boat is 5k lbs and it's not as good. The real downfall is the 4spd transmission. I think the comments about the 8 and 10 spd are worth considering. I have a buddy who has the 1/2 ton Silverado with the small...

    "Energy Independence", eh?

I think one other thing to consider is the value of the dollar and that the BRICS nations are trying to get the US dollar out of the oil business. The less oil is bought with US dollars, the worse it will be for us. This plays into what we pay for fuels or anything for that matter. In the end...

Mercury Avator 7.5E 15'' Outboard Motor

If your only concerned with going 200ft or so, you could save a "boatload" of money and buy a really nice trolling motor. Your defiantly paying for the Mercury name. I think some of the other brands are pretty descent as well.

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

pclark... Just discovered this. Beautiful garage! Very inspiring! I hope to have one myself someday. I am limited by my lot and it needs to be attached to my house. Might be 15 x 40 with a partial second floor when all said and done. I'll look forward to looking back at your build.

Really good weather news released today....regarding next WINTER

I wanna say it was 2018 I think? Was cold all winter. I had my cabin in Wausaukee at the time. That winter I remember we rode a bunch right from our door and it was 2+ miles on a road to the trail. Usually mild winters we could not ride from the cabin because the snow would melt on the road. I...

    TIME TO CALL IT ?

It's going to be a brutal sales season next fall. SOOO many new sleds or sleds with really low miles around. Some will buy new-new but most people that dont have a bottomless checkbook will be looking for "the deal" and the rest of us that rode very little will just run our current stuff next...

I had some hopes of one last UP run but considering it will be back in the 40's and 50's soon, game over. 320 miles for the season, better than 0.

    VOTE! Best Burgers in Wisconsin

This is a hard one, lots of good ones out there. Up north last year, I had a really good one at Blackiron Bar and Grill, Hayward. Locally for me it would have to be the Brickhouse in DePere.

    Grooming history

We are defiantly spoiled with the modern trail system and the grooming. If some see a pimple on the trail these days, they complain.
