How many folks are taking the money they are not spending and saving for a side by side??

The dust and dirt is a bit of a pain for sure. But I'll take the wind in my hair every. single. day. compared to riding around in a fully enclosed cab. If I want that experience, I can ride in my car. For me, the open air, the mud puddles, etc. are very similar to finding untouched powder on...

How many folks are taking the money they are not spending and saving for a side by side??

I'm with Skylar and Rupp. Bought a one-year old Can Am Maverick Sport 1000R (naturally aspirated) 60" Side by Side 2 years ago. My wife likes to snowmobile, but not as much as I do. But riding the Can Am is a different story. We've put on almost 8,000 miles in the last 2 years. NW Wisconsin...

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

Here is 30 yr. Average snowfall for WI. Still looking for lowest snowfall amounts by county. We certainly aren't going to touch any of these numbers from Central WI north this year!

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

Agreed. Crazy in Spooner too. Almost no snow. Maybe 2 inches out on the lake. 30's and 40's for the next 2 full weeks. I know I'm lazy because I won't trailer to ride. Too spoiled always being able to ride right from our cabin. Don't have to board dogs, pay for lodging, food, vehicle gas...

What makes us ride where we do?

Back in the day (pre-cabin) I trailered from the Twin Cities, MN area to anywhere with good snow. Grand Rapids, MN, Solon Springs, WI, and UP just to name a few. 10 years ago we bought a cabin outside of Spooner, WI and can ride right from the driveway and on groomed trails. The sleds don't...

    How’s this for you guys

I can vouch for that, Indy. If you draw a triangle from Superior to Hayward to Ashland, everything inside that triangle is in dang good shape, even after the rain. I'm in northern Washburn County and it's a little thin and icy here, but as we went North, it just kept getting better...

    Rock Tamers or Similar

I've always used a Tow Tector on my Suburban to protect my boat, snowmobile, and utility trailers. I've been pretty happy with it. In the winter, as you'd expect, the bristles get pretty clogged and full of slush and snow, but a quick trip to a manual car wash takes care of it quickly. The...

    To Scratch Or Not?

I agree that sometimes looking at that temp reading all day can be consuming, but on my 2015 Polaris 800, DET kicks in at 180 degrees. Normal operating temp is 120-130.

    To Scratch Or Not?

In NW Wisconsin where we ride, there can be longer sections of trail on or along plowed roads. The plow drivers aren't kind to us sledders. I was up last weekend in epic early season riding conditions and still put the scratchers down. My temp went from 155 to 125 in about a block. Will...

My First Snowmobile was a .....

1976 Arctic Cat Jag 3000 for me. So many good times on that sled that I can't even recount them all. The odometer stopped working at 7000 miles. Rode it for several more seasons before my dad finally got rid of it and I upgraded to a 1983 Polaris Cutlass. It was our first oil injected sled...

    2015 Polaris Axys Skid Removal

Thanks Mezz. I've done that and other searches. The video you reference is a mountain sled and doesn't have the beaver tail suspension with external rear shock like I have. I've pulled many other Polaris skids and always lay my sled on the side now too. Much easier. Like I said, at first...
