SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

Kenosha, explains why I never knew that, but it also states those are just Min guidelines not a hard set "rule" as others things can determine the trail opening to.

What county does that rule apply?? I have never heard of 4" with frost and 6" without?? I have been in member in Waukesha and Walworth for over 28 years. So much goes into opening trails, did wind blow snow off fields, are marshes open and not froze, any areas where corn is still up (dec time...

Walworth County Trails close Saturday Feb 4th at 6 a.m. Jefferson County Trails close Saturday at 6 a.m as well From what I have seen driving around, trails today are in fair condition. Many poor chisel plowed fields and areas were snow blew off the last few days, some fair and some...

Groomers have been running like crazy in Walworth County. Trails are reported fair to good. Chisel plowed field are a little rough, drifting has helped some trails, and there are stretches of really good. On my way to work this a.m I noticed trails north of Elkhorn were all groomed overnight...

I like the change of pace to. To me the U.P is boring, big wide straight trails and long curves. I enjoy Northern Wi for the twisty trails. And while I don't have time or money to go north every weekend it would be nice to ride from home when I am not north. Also all the work we put into...

Yup storms north and south. Glad this once missed, it would have been useless with the ground unfrozen. Maybe this will be year that Feb and early March give us local riding?? Last year I think Walworth County was open for like 9 hours all year.

Sadly looks like 3-5" now. I was out marking last section of trail in Elkhorn area and was surprised there was 0 frost in the ground under the few inches of snow. Might be best thing not to get to much snow from this and get things froze up solid. But i see mid 40's in next weeks forecast........

    Holy Vilas Traffic!

Easy drive from Milwaukee and Northern Wi. You can be in Minocqua in 3-4 hours from those locations and be on the highway rolling 70-80 the whole way. And its typically has snow jan-feb so pretty safe to book a trip. I was just in Lando and I have never seen traffic in my 30 years riding like...

    Manitowish Area

Saturday I have never seen traffic on the trails like it. I could not go 1/4mile without passing groups of 4-8 sleds all day long. All trails in the area were snirty with ice corners but overall pretty good for the traffic that was on them.

    Trailer Tires PSI

Just replaced my Triton trailer tires and made a mistake and ordered LOAD E (90 PSI) rather then LOAD C (50 PSI)that was on it. Wondering if I can lower PSI for a smoother ride. I only ask as I have heard guy do this, but not sure. Maybe I wont even notice the difference but feel it will be...

    Covid

"Who are you" I am just someone had enough antibodies after over 11 months of original infection according to my Dr. to still have natural immunity. My point was they don't know how long natural immunity lasts. Many studies have shown 3 months up to 5 years. Longer then any jab does. He was...

    Covid

If somebody says you had a 99% chance to come home alive from your snowmobile trip would you go? Or would would sit in your basement? I try not to sound selfish but I lost a good friend from a enlarged heart this summer nobody knew he had at age 35. At his funeral his dad told me, glad you...

    Covid

That is not true, They have no idea how long it will last. Some studies are showing it may last years. In some cases they show your immunity can start lowering after 3 months but some people still have full immunity after a year plus still. I had covid in Oct 2020, I had a anti body test in...

    Under the bubble once again

You are correct, around 12-15" below normal. Working on a golf course I keep very close track of this, never seen a long dry spell like this for over a year like we are in. Seems to be all .10-.20" rains and very small snowfalls. Last winter with almost 2' of snow on ground I have never seen...
