How "fast" is trail 14 - Big Bay to L'Anse?

I agree with above statements on trail 14. Another thing is the solitude, you will see nothing but trees and snow for miles and miles and miles.

    Something You Don't See Everyday

My cousin harvested a cat a couple years ago in New Mexico. It's live weight was 190 lbs. and with a very similar photo angle it looked every bit as big in his photos as this one so I can believe this to be an actual photo. Those cats can get big and this is a big boy.

    Johndee website down?

Just returned home from 6 days of riding the Western UP. Doo is most likely the most popular sled with Poo not far behind for sure but plenty of AC/Yamaha sleds out there as well.

    BRP Exome Radiant Helmet

This season will be my 3rd with the Mission. Whitedust it has never had any icing inside or out in over 5,000 miles and temps from -10 to above freezing. I've worn it in every configuration but have settled on the e shield without the breath deflector. CKX makes a balaclava that leaves your...

How many trips planned and where?

Two trips booked so far, the first Jan 7th - 14th staying halfway between Seney/Grand Marais. The second in the western UP Feb 25th - March 4th staying in Toivola. It's been a few years (like 14 years) since we've been West, looking forward to getting back over that way.

Just looking for some feedback on bluetooth communication headsets. which ones are good, which ones are no good??? Thanks in advanced.

My group (7 of us) have been using the Packtalk bold units the past couple of seasons. Range is going to be different depending on the trail. When on a grade with extreme snow dust a group of seven can get spread apart pretty far but the clear line of communication is never a problem between the...

Just looking for some feedback on bluetooth communication headsets. which ones are good, which ones are no good??? Thanks in advanced.

Up to 25 riders can be added to one group with the Cardo Packtalk Bold. The new communicator from Cardo does not use an external antenna but has all the same features as the Packtalk bold.

Exciting Addition for Small Town Greenland.

Congratulations Kip...Bobcat has a lot of great products. My brother and have a couple Bobcat tracked skid loaders. Two years ago we started shopping for a new mini excavator and settled on the new E88. It is such a nice machine (nice price tag too), we were able to dig a full basement...

Rising fuel costs hinder planned trips?

Nope not my group. We figure our weekly trips will cost double what it cost a few short years ago. We do bring our own food and that helps. Back in 18,19,20 and 21 our weekly trip would cost around $600-650 a guy, this past season was up to $800-850 but this upcoming season we figure it be...

    Gas

Here in North central Ohio fuel is over the $5 mark as well. I see no slowdown in the amount of traffic on the roads, I'm rural with 2 major state routes running through my small village. One going North/South the other East/West. Camper traffic is still strong along with drag racers headed to...

Another Weekend & Another Snowmobile Accident

My riding buddy 0f 45 years broke his back this past Sunday morning @ 9:30 am. It seems someone decided to plow out their driveway and not mark it. He was leading at the time, we heard him through the comms say big hole, big hole. The sled is fine, not a scratch but the compression of the hit...

    2022 sucks!

I'll second the bushing kits from Mainway, Val is a really good guy and makes top tier bushings. I have his stuff on my SRX procross chassis too.

    Turbo Yamacats

This statement screams 4 stroke! Any sled that comes from the mfg. with a turbo is gonna be more power than you will ever use. The skidoo 900 ACE and the Yamaha Viper are N/A motors. Both are very reliable and would be good choices for your application. We have 3 Vipers in our group with over...

    Helmet with heated shield

I have a season under my belt with the mission, it does everything extremely well. Warm, quite, great vision and it works equally well with or without electric shield. I used it both ways and settled on using the heated shield because you can remove the breath box using the heated shield. I know...

    Eastern UP help

Call it a figure 8 then, I can run you a 1500 mile loop from one end of the UP to the other and only hit trail #8 in the same spot for 12 miles to get around the troubles of Escanaba. Look it up, the distance between trail #7 and trail #417 on the main trail 8.
