Whatever snow we do get is supposed to be heavy tonight. If and when they open the trails they first have to be inspected and cleared as there will be a lot of downfall if we get what they are predicting. 2" so far as of 6pm in MW area.

Not much happening in Northern WI yet, just very windy, and we had some freezing drizzle that came in around 7:30am. Hoping for the big one to crank up later today!

I agree, we now have a Winter Storm Watch for 8'+ in Vilas County. Supposed to start crank up Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. We'll see what happens on Wednesday but it does feel like snow!

At this point they are just saying 2-4" for us in Vilas County, I think there will be a better forecast on Tuesday.

In MW area they panned the trails, they are closed, and look very thin. Was talking with a guy Thursday and he said there is 6" of ice up here but we are 30 minutes north of Minocqua. We have a bout 10" of snow on the ground, perhaps more coming midweek.

Typically in Wisconsin, the Clubs meet with the County and then they decide based on the conditions reported from each club on their trails to open or not. Not sure how it's done in Michigan though.

Yes, I think you are seeing the effects of wearing masks for so long, it will only be getting worse. I am so glad my wife is not in health care anymore and doesn't have to wear the mask every day.

We still had a foot of snow on the ground after that warm day and then it snowed again in early January and we had that snow all winter.

2" in Manitowish Waters, We have about 10" on the ground but that would be all blown off the trails if they were open. Need a good dump of packing snow!

According to my 2021 December calendar we had a lot more snow last year than current, like about 37". We recieved 2" of light snow this morning in Vilas and maybe have 8-10" on the ground. Not enough to even groom yet, maybe some more Friday and looks like some heavier wet stuff for next...

Talked to someone from e Wakefield tonight. She said that the trails were thin but rideable, a local observation that I would take as truth. She said hey needed more snow.

I was riding a gas pig back then Polaris Classic 600, it got 100 miles out of the tank, or about 10 mpg so I was always getting to the gas station and putting another full tank in. Always topped off whenever I saw gas too. My riding budding was always riding newer machines, the newer they were...

Rode these trails in maybe 2010 and they were really nice as described. Just better know where gas is and take a snack and some water. Very scenic and some flat and fast trails.

What accomodations are there near the Porkies and LOC?

Your Chain is similiar to ours with 10 lakes or so and channels between them. Our law enforcement would rather harass boaters in a no wake zone for causing a little more than a ripple. My daughter had just passed her online test 7 years ago and she was driving in one of these no wake zones and...

I have found if you email the picture to yourself and then download or copy and paste it from email it works, shouldn't have to do it but it works for me. FYI
