    North Shore 2/10-12

Got up to the cabin over the weekend and had some fantastic riding. Spent most of the time off trail but the little trails we ran were great. Rode some of the NSST on Sunday morning and it was good. About the only real bad trail we rode was the Tomahawk from the NSST up to the Trestle inn and...

    2001 Sportsman 500HO question

Got a question for any ATV mechanics out there. My sportsman 500 has starting issues. You hit the starter and sometimes it'll just barely move/engage /won't crank or turnover. You can do that repeatedly (3-5 times) and then all of a sudden it starts to crank and starts fine. I've replaced...

    North Shore 1/15

Headed up to the cabin for the weekend. Theres about 24' on the ground at our cabin near Finland and as you got a but further inland i'd put it close to 30". On saturday my son and daughter and I went for a ride with some friends just around the Finland area, played in some swamps, found some...

    Black Hills

Looks like the place to go now is the Black Hills. Trailshead lodge has said they've gotten 3+ feet of snow over the last 2 days. I've been there, nice place.

    my crazy daughter

Since my son goes mtn biking with me I've been working on getting my daughter into that. But she insists she has zero interest in any physical activities. I took some pictures last night while she was working with her climbing team to prove she has interest in physical activities. She kept...

    Fall Colors

We were up on the north shore at the cabin this weekend and got out and did some hikes and colors were great in areas. You had to get 1 ridge line away from the lake for the colors to be good. Hiked Oberg Mtn, Marshall Mtn, and went up to Lutsen. I really like the ease of posting pictures now!

    My son's first Packer game

So we went to GB over the weekend to the Packer/Detroit game and took my son along for his first Packer game. We spent Saturday afternoon at Lambeau doing the HOF visit, the stadium tour (amazing) and getting something to eat where we watched the end of the UW/MSU game. Great game Badgers...

    Haydays......Is it worth it?

I enjoy going with my wife and daughter. They know we are gonna walk the whole thing and they actually have to slow down for me because I'm stopping and looking at every swap site for items while they just cruise the aisles. My daughter looks forward to it every year!

why are we still dealing with cant upload a pix?

Thought I'd try a couple pictures from Hay Days. The first shot is an F650 pickup truck, pretty amazing rig. Then the seat I found and my wife and daughter. The new picture process works great!

    The other snowmobile season

The off season is in full swing so I decided to get into the "repair season." Brought my old 600 into the shop for its new top end. Still ran fine but there was about 15 PSI difference between the cylinders, one side was at 125 and had been rebuilt about 4000 miles ago, the other side was at 110...

    Copper Harbor Mtn Biking

Had a great weekend at Copper Harbor Mtn Biking. Great trails, loved Garden Brook trail. Stayed at Fort Wilkens St Park, very nice. Lots of great downhill riding, some real crazy features. Loved the boardwalk switchbacks to get down Over the Edge trail (my son not so much).

    Mtn Biking

My son and I started Mtn Biking last year and have really enjoyed it. We are lucky to live in the Duluth area with a great collection of trails. This weekend we rode the Brewer Park trails with some great overlooks of the city of Duluth and also the Mission Creek trails which are some phenomonal...

My 3rd "last ride" of the yr

So my son and I gave in to the call of the snow and headed up to Finland for one more "last ride." Had a great time, ran forest roads up near Isabela for the day. Only did 75 miles but we were making first tracks for the majority of them. We stopped and built a fire and cooked some brats...

    Compression differences between cylinders

Is there an acceptable difference between cylinders? My 2010 600 RMK with 6800 miles is moving on to my kids now. In doing some post season repairs/maintenance to it I checked compression last night. The mag side is at 123 PSI, that side was rebuilt at about 3000 miles, so it has 3800 miles on...

    North Shore 3/25

Got up north again yesterday ad rode with some friends near Isabella. Lots of snow on the forest roads and we even rode some stretches of the Tomahawk and while it was a little bumpy it was well covered. Lots more downed trees from the last storm. Ran into some plowed forest roads that we didn't...

    welding on suspension rails

I decided to pull the suspension out of my old RMK and go thru it today and came across a couple issues. Going to replace idler bearings and slides after 6800 miles but the bigger issue is on one of my rails there is a crack from the top down to the bolt hole for an idler wheel, about 3/8" long...

    North Shore riding 3/12

I've wrestled with myself on the 600 vs 800 over the last few yrs. While I love the idea of the extra power on tap with the 800 I just can't justify it. My riding style just doesn't require it as most of our riding is cruising down forest roads, swamps, rivers, etc... When I'm with my family its...

    picture sizing question

Has anybody else had trouble sizing pictures for uploading them. I have to make them so small to get under the 95 KB size limit, I'm down to 300x300 MP to get to that file size. Am I doing anything wrong? Most pics are taken with Iphone 6.

    North Shore riding 3/12

North Shore riding 3/12 - trivia question is answered. So we ran back up to the cabin this weekend to attend the St Urho's festivities in Finland and sneak one last ride in. As we were unloading sleds on Saturday the truck thermometer was telling me it was 60 degrees out. We ran down some...
