Since we at in the new year it is time to ask the offical snowfall question. Where does 2011 Nov-Dec Snowfall rank in UPMI history?????

When you rent a sled in marginal snow conditions & you weld hyfax to the rails.... Who pays? Or if you overheat & blow an engine because no snow on exchangers....Who pays? What about carbides? Who is suppose to know better rental dealer or renter? How does it work??

Got to hand to JD as he has the sack to put out detailed snowfall graphics for Saturday /Sunday Storm. Local weather people all over the place on this 1 & no guts to comitt to snowfall & supposed to snow tomorrow.lol

SART (Snowmonile Accident Reduction Team) is now named RSET (Recreation Safety Enforcement Team) will be a 4 man team plus local DNR wardens. No matter the name they are banned from the Minocqua area but will be in Eagle River week after the Derby. Their truck & trailer will be on the northside...

Is there anything indicating when the Cold Flip will happen? So far seems warm compared to other winters. I'm ok with cold flip durning 1st 10 days of Dec but starting to get concerned. Pete

How strong do you think winds will be on Sunday in WI Northwoods & UPMI? When they forecast wind in November I listen. Last year 3-4 days without power & trees down everywhere. ALWAYS 1 really strong blow in November that the rest of the world never hears about.

Just curious as I never heard anyone report ground temps just air & water temps. I would like to know how cold the ground is, when it freezes & how deep the freeze line goes?

Took off old UPMI & WI Snomo Stickers no problem came right off & didn't have to use my trusty pig sticker blade to get them started. Put on new WI Sticker which is blue better than the old green sticker colorwise & has larger numbers but black lettering contrast is poor quaility IMO. Anywho...

I dropped & sawed up a hard Maple that was hit by lightning recently. Looking at the 2012 trail sled lineups seems that the traditional 121 track sled will soon be extinct. The new 121 is 128 & 136 is moving to 144ish. It took me awhile to embrace the 144 tipped but seems like the best of both worlds now. I bought a 136 in 2008 & will never go back to 121 but...

Every year the leaves start to turn during mid August in nothern WI regardless of mositure, sunlight or temperature. What causes this? Solar angles?
