Pictures from October 6, 2012 taken up at Herman. Lake effect drizzle (not snow yet) off and on today at Lac La Belle. They plan to run the chair lift at Mt. Bohemia next weekend, Sept. 28-29, and the following weekend, Oct 5-6. The colors up there today are a nice thick blend of dark greens...

The road up Brockway will probably still be closed. I skied up there a week ago and there was still lots of snow. You could always hike up there or bring your sled.

Keweenaw color tour October 10-12, 2009 saw a little white on the ground at Mt. Bohemia on the 10th, Swedetown, Calumet G.C., Twin Lakes on the 11th, and Negaunee Township on the 12th.

I go out to take color shots this morning and this red squirrel gives me the evil eye and starts scolding me, so I'm thinking, "You unappreciative little varmint!", "Do you realize that a 10# bag of sunflower seeds at $9.97 costs about the same as a 6 pack of Two Hearted Ale?" Then I'm thinking...

Colors nearing peak at Lac La Belle. Maybe a little white will be mixed in by the weekend.

Colors are getting better by the minute, and rapidly approaching peak. If you're waiting for those white pine to turn, it could be a long wait. Although even some of the pines are turning yellow and shedding needles. The last colors left will be the green and gold of the spruce and tamarack...

Pics show colors progressing nicely and fat skis vs. skinny skis. Unfortunately, the lift rides are indeed cancelled at Mt. Bohemia. I am not sure why. There is still lots to do up here and great colors to be seen, either by vehicle or on foot it you are adventurous.

The colors are starting to get good up here. I went for a trail run up Mt. Bohemia yesterday and there are more reds in the mix at the summit, and also more leaves dropping. Down by the lake, there are more greens in the mix but full coverage. Personally, I like to see a little white in the mix...
