Off trail riding on the local news

I’m not getting Abe’s example of someone who trespasses will need to be covered on the landowners insurance?? So are we supposed to put up “enter at your own risk” signs right next to “no trespassing” signs, which would certainly be a mixed message. I have 90 acres up north and I don’t have any...

    Comparing BRP Helmets

Can you explain how the helmet "lifts"? I don't notice anything above 80 at all...all the way up to 110mph. Maybe it's due to my windshield? I have an adjustable medium to high since I don't want to freeze and like the protection when in freezing drizzle.

Strong comments... Smart Shocks ok? Do you have them? What do you ride? I can promise you I am not a 30-40 mph rider and I find them stunningly effective. I don't have to fart around with compression, rebound...nothing. Just flip a switch based on conditions. Comfort setting 80% of the time and...

St.Germain to porcupine Mtn and back

2" is definitely not enough. So you're deciding for safety reasons...I'm with you on that one. I went out there as I said last week but stayed where there were tracks and followed Euphoric1's track so if he made it I figured I was good :D

St.Germain to porcupine Mtn and back

I was on Gogebic last week for the first time. Wondering why you avoid? Mostly just curious. Last week the lake was flat and fast but I can see if drifts are out there or ice heaves that could be tough. Didn't see any of those but have heard stories.

    Snowmobiler hit by Car

wonder if the traffic is up (sleds/riders) this year and therefore higher accidents simply due to the numbers??

    Best fitting helmet.....oxygen

Happy for you Brian. Yes, we have been very happy with ours. I've had it since it first came out. Last week on our rides i was getting a little hot to be honest so rode with the visor down but not snapped shut. My son and I use uclear communicators so when the visor is open and we are talking...

    Tomahawk Area 1/24/23

I felt the same way last night! I didn't want to stop. We were in Bergland, White Pine, Gogibic and watersmeet area. Conditions were mint. Started to get colder towards the end of the day and that usually means even better trails

    Snowmobiler hit by Car

Oh man. I read the thread title too quick and thought it said snobuilder. for sure a sad situation. I honestly think about that situation almost every time we cross a road. There are times if I see a vehicle and know I can make it but the sleds behind me cannot I wait anyway so they...

    1/25 NW Vilas Ride

Just arrived home in Florence. Me and my son met Euphoric1 and venturenorth today at the casino in Watersmeet. Whitedust took the day off. We left from the casino and headed up to the Konteka and had lunch then headed back south. Since I had never been out on lake Gogibic we decided to cruise...

completely agree. My favorite area in the U.P.

    Thawing out a sled?

Like snobuilder said this shouldn't be complicated but I don't want to make a mistake and walk out one morning and find all my trailer doors frozen shut! Meanwhile the rest of the group is now waiting on me. Since I typically leave from my house and sleds are all thawed out I haven't had to deal...

    Thawing out a sled?

I do keep my sleds in a heated garage but I don't polish before every ride :) We have a trip coming up in February where I have one of two options, load into trailer every night or leave outside. I was thinking that I would load into trailer and use my torpedo heater to melt...

How "fast" is trail 14 - Big Bay to L'Anse?

You will get many replies here I'm sure however I can't imagine anyone having a negative comment about trail 14. Over the last 24 years I've been riding this area it is by far in the top two (the other being 107). We ride it at least once per season and sometimes more than that. It is a fast...

Trail 5 south of Big Bay

Nice thank you. A few years ago I stopped looking at club updates since the few that I checked almost never update on a timely basis. I just gave up.
