Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

He meant the new reroute landowners after the 1 year have a negative feeling about the trail because of the handful of asshat snowmobilers that will not be able to follow the rules and stay on the trail and stuff. The same reason the trail had to be rerouted before.

    UP is getting pounded!

So yesterday afternoon the lake was open with just edges and bay’s freezing up wake up this morning to 9 degrees out and lake is frozen over, didn’t expect that. The lake we are on is one of the first to freeze on the chain so I doubt any others have froze over yet but it is a start.

I swear we had that on my lake last weekend, snowing like mad on south side of lake hardly anything on north was crazy.

    UP is getting pounded!

Right now Cisco chain is freezing slow, we haven’t had the deep cold to really get it going. My back bay and other bay areas are iced over but big lakes not close yet. Next couple days some colder temps may help but then mid 30’s by midweek will slow it down again. All this snow sitting on top...

    UP is getting pounded!

8-12” on the ground in the Cisco chain area, with weather channel saying another 5-8” possible Saturday. Hopefully our club can get out before the first and pan and pack trails so they can setup for a few days. Still a long way away from opener but looking good for the start so far.

Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

So after reading the next post have to ask yourself who is lying I’m betting it’s the new owners. I don’t know the club president Scott personally but being involved and now trail boss of UP thunder riders and our President who has been involved with our club and others for over 15 years do you...

Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

Actually in this case they can raise taxes because he has done improvements so that increases value so just need to be creative on how much you raise taxes.🤪

Does Anybody have the real story on Cell coverage in Northern WI and the Yoop?

I know when most of the towers went up in western UP AT&T got contract now I don’t know if others have since added but AT&T works way better than Verizon around the Cisco chain area. Before we went full time up here AT&T was what we used for all of our internet and usually don’t have a problem.

Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

Hopefully there will be a reroute and hopefully it doesn’t come anywhere close to the ski hills and then the new owners will never get any snowmobile business. The new owner has no clue how much revenue came from snowmobiles so that will be the best way to get even.

Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

It was just run in the UP morning news that it will be closed for the season and they are still working on a reroute but it will not happen this year. So hopefully they can come up with something in the future and also hope it gets out to every skier to what this owner is doing and the damage...

The renegade we a 1+1 is a very comfortable ride did it on the gen 1 and the xs versions gen1 is definitely not as comfortable as newer versions especially if your taller.

What is your favorite UP ghost story or "haunted" location?

I live on Cisco chain now and still just the foundation and and the to fireplace chimneys. My kid and some of there friends have walked it, said it was weird. Very hard to see from the lake with all the trees being overgrown. I believe there are some new owners of the property but no idea of...

Trail 2 - Losing a section due to change of ownership

What I liked about the post is they brought the local government into the picture. Now it is known throughout the community and the loss of income that the snowmobile community brings will help the local government to help with a solution. So yes now new owners hopefully understand how important...

    Anyone in Florida right now?

Have family in the Saint Pete/ Tampa area and just got a text a lot of wind and rain but doing ok. The wife and I were just down there for packer game and left on Monday and really glad I did. But the locals don’t seem to be that worried yet.

    SnowTech Editorial Scary Snowmobiling Future

So you don’t see much benefit in joining a club, well who would do the work then? The bar owners or the resort owners, oh wait the have to kiss there patrons backsides so they will give them some tip money and maybe come back the there place of business again. The area that the club I belong to...

I would second on the idea of late September or early October over memorial day weekend bugs will be worse could still be in mud season or could be absolutely perfect in May.

    Electric vehicle

This is very true my son is an electrical engineer and works for a utility in Wisconsin and said this year (not even a real hot one) that the Midwest almost came to a point of not having enough supply to support the demand. So I asked why are they tearing down plants? And his comment is most of...

    Gas

All kinda of democratic run states temporarily cutting state fuel tax (to give us all a break) as said above to get votes and if they do it will go right back up. As for diesel there is no reason for it to be more than gas with the exception of oil companies gouging.

    Electric vehicle

Not going to argue your numbers, but to trust the government to get that done is not very reassuring, especially in UP. They promised us (western UP) high speed internet (government supported) by 2022 in 2021 now saying 2023 and I would be willing to bet won’t happen by 2024. So I believe they...
