    SnowTech Editorial Scary Snowmobiling Future

Imo with the evolution to EVs the short refueling stop equipment tow from the South to the Northwoods seems like a dream. I also don’t think many will be able to afford 4 $20k sleds of any form for their families. 100 Hp will probably settle in at about the norm with heated seats and smart...

    SnowTech Editorial Scary Snowmobiling Future

Read the September SnowTech article and they claim in the 10 years up to 50% of snowmobilers will be of the younger crowd and have no idea how the current snowmobile trail system was created and maintained by older volunteers. YIKES! What kind of sleds will these newbies want surely not 200hp...

    Well, it is here ...

Textron is referenced as new owner to most. The question in my mind is what happens to Yamaha 4s manufacturing in old procross chassis? Difficult to think Textron will support 2 sets of chassis tooling in their assembly line. I read that Yamaha is courting Polaris to use Yamaha 4s engines in...

    Well, it is here ...

I’m not sure what you’re asking? Yes Textron owns the AC snow division and put in their people and policies.

Rising fuel costs hinder planned trips?

Let us know if Cranberry Fest falls short that’s a big event rain , shine or snow. Cranberry Fest has been setting attendance records the past few years. If attendees don’t want bear the costs of that event then inflation is keeping them at home.

Rising fuel costs hinder planned trips?

I wouldn’t judge winter season activities on Labor Day up north. Lots of summer residents come up Labor Day weekend to work take piers and boats out and shut down the cabin. Usually Fall let you know it’s arrival in Vilas in early September so it could be really cold to be in /on the water by...

Rising fuel costs hinder planned trips?

Over all costs will probably cut down on trips north. Heck it snows here I’m riding especially after zero open days in Racine county last season.

    Triple dip LaNina

What I know 30 years ago there used to be winter and snow on a line Wausau north then that line moved north to Tomahawk and graduated to north of Rhinelander currently. Idk why but if your snowmobiling Rhinelander is as close as you can get to semi reliable snow and groomed trails. If Wi doesn’t...

not good news for Polaris sled owners

    Propane this year

Excellent advice I had 1000 gallon tank too never bought gas in winter. Our road was a nightmare hilly and snow covered November thru April and sure don’t want to need gas when Spring weight restrictions are on.

Holy poop that’s not good! Hopefully Polaris has parts to fix.

    Propane this year

No easy answer for that depends on location and how well the house is insulated. I would burn 600 plus gallons in Phelps between November and June also had gas dryer and hot water heater probably 3600 square feet 3 levels but also had wood stove going most of the time on main level. Southern...

Anyone live in Sheboygan town of Rhine area?

There is a private lake near my old stomping grounds in Phelps owned by a farmer. The farm was abandoned years ago but anyone trespassing on that lake was arrested. Yes the DNR owns the water but access was privately owned. You are doing the right thing by seeking permission to access.
