    Everything Grooming....the grooming thread

Tractor themselves are very reliable. It is the tracked machines that seem to be more prone to problems, especially the steel cleated tracked machines. Steel tracks cause lots of vibration, vibration with give you trouble sooner or later. This is a picture of a recent breakdown we had. All we...

    Everything Grooming....the grooming thread

We have a Tucker and a Case IH tractor. The Tucker is easy to operate, but the rear visibility sucks and it just requires to much maintenance. The tractor has excellent visibility and low maintenance, but is not for everyone to operate. Our club is due to update to a new machine, we just are...

    Nothing Runs like a Deere

Here's my new Deere. Not even close to perfect, but good enough for the boys (and myself) to beat around the field with.

Lost Art of Changing Your Own Oil?

I am surprised at how many people don't change their own oil anymore. I hear so many at work that don't. I had to teach a cub scout achievement one night on maintaining things, and checking a cars oil and tires was one. No one knew anything except my son, they all knew that their dad took it...

    The Bridge is Down!

I saw on the PastyCam today that the bridge is down. That must mean they will start laying the mat in a week or so. OK, sorry, just a little humor on a dreary day.

    Rewarding Working Club Members?

Whats does your snowmobile club do to reward members that actually do the work? We have a club that is well diversified. We have many that are good at different things. We don't really need to rely on just a couple people to do all the work. We have a few that are great at fundraising, a few...

    Snowmobile Memoribilia.......

What have you got that you think is a cool memory from sledding. New or old, show us a 1 or 2 things you have. These are mine: The sign is from the dealer that my dad bought his Scorpions from, back in the day. The figurine was an Arctic Cat, I believe. My mom modified it to be a Scorpion...

    60 Degrees In July

I know I am a minority here, but I think this was a great day. My kind of temps. I cut grass with a sweatshirt on today, almost needed gloves. 60 degrees from now until the middle of November and then freezing temps and snow. I can dream.

Thinking of selling to a good home? Any interested takers?

Do you really want to sell it? If in doubt keep it. I have an old Scorpion lighted dealership sign. Selling is not a option.

    Lets Dream A Little..................

Lets just say you had money to burn (like PR1 ;)) and you could choose anyplace in the U.P. to live, moneys no object. Where would you choose? I would choose Eagle Harbor or the very near area. I have been to many areas of the U.P. and I think the Eagle Harbor area is just beautiful, peaceful...

    Happy fathers day!

Happy Fathers Day to all my fellow sledheads. Especially to my dad, hamburgchf, who is partially responsible for the man I am today. He is responsible for my love of snowmobiling and everything sled related. I am involved with snowmobiling like I am today because of my dad. I also know how to...

    Pictures of some Vintage Sleds

Here's my current project. It needs quite a bit of work just to ride, but with a little luck and time, it will be rideable by next season. It was/is my dads sled, he was the 2nd owner. It was originally owned by a Scorpion dealers rep. If I remember the story right, Scorpion gave him the sled as...

    Lake Superior Traffic Report....

Now that the Soo Locks are again open for the season, there sure is a lot of ship traffic on the big lake. They must be making up for lost time. Just looked on the link from the PastyCam and there was a bunch of them right near the locks. Hope to get to Duluth/Superior this summer to show the...

    Snow Storm.......?

Since when is a "snow storm" 2"-4" or 3"-5"? Have some people gotten soft, or like to add a little drama to things? The snow the U.P. got earlier this week was a "Snow Storm", not the couple inches or so that we got here today. I think John needs to make definitions of a "storm" and send it to...

    I Don't Own A Mopar..........

For the first time since I was 16, I don't own a Mopar. I have always had at least one, and up to 3, at one time. My last one was my wifes Town and Country, that I got when she got an Envoy last fall. A few weeks ago the tranny went out on that on my way to work. So the search was one, quickly...

    Groomers?

Our club is probably going to be buying something new in the next few years. Just starting to talk about it now and will probably be replacing a mid 1990's Tucker. We also have a tractor that most likely will be staying. I know we have a groomer section here, but I think this gets more traffic...
