rain changed to snow here at 9PM last night (Nokomis area)...6 1/2 inches at 7am, and still snowing lightly..wet heavy stuff...lots of slush

There is 4-6 inches in the Tomahawk area...more to the north (I had 6 1/2 in the Nokomis area at 7AM)...wet heavy stuff, lots of slush under neath....and still snowing lightly...supposed to get more...but so far no word from the county on what the plan is....expecting temps in the 40's by...

it's currently raining....the lakes are a mess...solid ice, but lots of water and slush on top...wet heavy snow will make it really slushy out there...Winter Storm Warning for late today, into tomorrow...I guess we'll see what happens

MIGHT not be enough to open trails though.......I have people already calling me, saying they are coming up when the trails reopen Friday....and I have to burst their bubble and tell them that's not a given....some may open, some may not..Vilas has a better chance of reopening than Oneida...

100 PERCENT!!!....I never would have opened in the first place...they never had a proper base on them....pressure from the Minocqua area pushed them to open and it was WRONG. Minocqua and Eagle River are tourist traps, that relay mostly on tourism...they do not care if you ride dirt...their...

What's BS? Protecting our land owners? Making sure trails are safe? I can't speak for Vilas County...but We've been doing it this way a long time..with very few issues. Unfortunately Mother Nature didn't cooperate this year, nor last year....we can't control that....But what we will do is try...

She is definitely singing....the chances these trails reopen are less than 50/50 at this point....just another bad year (though better than last year)

Mercer is also closing tomorrow....and now Vilas County while not closing is advising to NOT ride...Iron County doing the same

also...Marathon, Portage, and Taylor all closed today.

Lincoln County and Langlade County will be closing their trails Monday at 8am...to try and preserve the base as there is rain and much warmer temps in the forecast..trails will reopen when conditions permit it.
