I’m retired, 68, want to take one more trip into the BWCA with my daughter and now the little grandson. It’s been talked about and I’m still in decent shape so hopefully we can get it done in the next few years.

I think you are right but that’s pretty normal, another low snow year up here, so sun will take care of any new snow we get pretty quickly.

Looks like some decent snow brewing for Tuesday night Wednesday. 8-9” of snow, the heavy wet variety followed by colder weather could open them back up in Vilas. 🤔

Having a county as large as Vilas it doesn’t make a lot of sense that all 13 or so clubs must consent to either open or keep the trails closed. I think we all know why and who determined why they opened when they did this year. Just saying……..

If that was the case, no one would patronize a place like ever again. The letter states “Temporarily Closed” which I would interpret as closed, yes?

They are temporarily closed at noon on Sunday 3/2. May re-open if and when more snow comes. Not sure why 3/2? They are all dirt right now after the last 4 days. I did see a sled yesterday in the park by the Pea Patch, assuming he came over via the lake. It’s 32 this morning and everything looks...

45 and partly sunny here in MW, snowmobiling is done for this season, we have about a foot of snow on the ground but it’s melting fast. Warm again next week, moved a shorestation down from my neighbors place yesterday, worked out pretty well.

Hermie, we were down in Oconomowoc that weekend and it was 70 degrees, came home, next day, April 1st, 16” of snow. It was awesome riding that March. This pic was taken on April 1st.

Tim, I think it’s bigger and it’s set farther back from the road. He will also have a beer garden. I think it will be nice.

I would laugh if I saw anyone riding up here right now even if they aren’t officially closed, sunny and 39 today.

The last 2 years weren’t good, the 2 years before that were awesome, 22/23 we rode until April, record snowfall that year, trails were pure white.

I drove by the Ye Olde Shelleighle today and saw that the building is up. Talked to Craig the owner for a bit and he mentioned opening sometime in May. Welcome back!

Our trails were brown all season.

It’s not looking good Brian, I’ll send some pics as the week progresses but Vilas should close temporarily as well, there’s really no point in keeping open right now.
