Snows have begun to intensify here in the Keweenaw. + 12f with very fine flakes which would indicate a little dryer air, nonetheless, the snowfall has picked up a bit. I guess we'll see how it all pans out.

It would appear that the storm itself will not bring as much snow to the Keweenaw as was first anticipated. Nonetheless, 8-10" is a respectable amount. LES could provide more on top of that, however, that will depend on location & wind direction. Be aware of the icey conditions in many areas...

Approx 5" 8 mi North of Hancock, difficult to measure an exact number as the winds were crazy last night & early this morning. You might try the AmericInn on Sixth St. or perhaps the parking lot of the old Shopko which is now a self storage facility just before the AmericInn at the Mine Street Station. That lot is pretty large & the trail out is nearby.

I saw a couple of sleds doing test laps, but not a lot going on, what happened? Track too scetchy? Looked like some sporatic ocassional light flurries but nothing to write home about.

Holy crap! that has to be a gut wrenching nightmare! At least he was somewhat prepared, but I'll bet he didn't sleep well for a couple of days. Lesson learned, despite what any app may say, when in doubt, don't. He is a very lucky guy..... Maybe he should have gone to Utah with you instead.

Looks like beautiful conditions, blue bird skies, lots of pow, good friends, no wrecked sleds, no injured soles. It doesn't get a whole lot better than that. That is what sledding is all about.
