So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

Progress last week included getting the sheathing on the first part of the garage, building the gables, and putting on the silicone felt paper. At least now I have 20' x 30' that is waterproof so I have moved some things inside that were in my driveway. It was just me working alone this past and...

After the front comes through we usually get a East/NE wind which results in no fish or very little action.

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

Well, the work continues! We started this build 6 days ago, most of the time was either me or a neighbor helping me out and my wife helping as much as she can (Thanks Patty for helping me realize a dream!). The rest of the framing on the lower level was completed, the header for the garage door...

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

So far, so good. As you know you have to be on someones list at least 2 years in advance to get a major project like this done. I'm in pretty good shape for a 66 year old and I like to see what I can accomplish. This is like building a small home, it's actually a little larger that our home...

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

Friday I had a load of road gravel delivered (15yds) My excavator was busy so I spread it myself by hand, Took me most of Friday, That's a lot of gravel but it was really needed to level out the approach to the garage, I was pleased with the result. Saturday was framing and Sunday also, Put up...

    Solar/Lunar tables....best times to fish

I really like fishing right before a front comes through, have always caught fish and have had great activity. As for the solunar tables, they seem to work sometimes but full moon is a great night for fishing!

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

I will figure it out at the end but yes, the major cost is now paid for. Excavation and concrete work was way more than I had figured. My lumber and trusses are paid for, just have to buy shingles and insulation. And a million other little things.........about $2,000 in Menards rebate have been...

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

It held up pretty good for the first big storm, considering that the sand was very dry prior to the rain. I knew I would have some erosion but it was very little. I will plant grass up there or put down fabric and wood chips over it eventually. That was a heavy down pour we had last night so I...

So.......I started a project, My new Garage!

Pete, no fabric, we had 2.5" of rain last night and everything drained of pretty well, not much washout at all, I'm pretty happy about that because I was a little worried. The garage slab was pretty dry this morning as well with only a couple of puddles on the flat part of the garage which is...
