Awoke to a few inches of fluff this morning here in the Banana Belt of the Keweenaw. Received an additional 2" with light snow continuing so far. We are still under a Winter Storm Watch with anticipated LES amounts of 5-12" possible through to 7 am Thursday. So far, not bad out there, at least...
The NWS has now upped the snowfall for this LES event to 5-12". This should prove to be interesting with tomorrow's snow removal as the existing snow banks are now set up like cement after 34 to 36 degrees & rain yesterday. Not my idea of a fun roller coaster ride.
Yep, Heere we go again! Potentially 4-10" of new snowfall expected between 7am Wed & 1 am Thurs in Keweenaw, Northern & Southern Houghton county as well as Baraga county. Winds to gust to 35 leading to blowing snow. All according the the NWS. They haven't been real accurate, so we'll see what...
Nice! Brings back memories. I wish the archives had all the posts & pictures that were once there of all of our weekend rides. Great times! Thank
you for sharing those.
I agree, Carlisle or Goodyear. I've had Carlisle tires on my travel trailers & sled trailers, good life span with them. Don't buy tires cause they're cheap, lots of cheap Taiwanese, Chinese & Indonesian junk out there, not worth it.
Slop fest here this morning in the Keweenaw. Wet snow fell overnight followed by rain this morning and 34 degrees. True heart attack snow, what a mess! Local schools here had a 2 hr delayed start. Suppose to see more rain this afternoon then transition to to snow with temps in the upper 20's. I...
We had our first break in snow activity. Saturday was sloppy, after a 2" snow, we had light drizzle from mid morning into the early afternoon. We had a few of the grandkids up to do some early season sled hill action, they were able to fly after I groomed with the sxs.
Been around since the beginning, ever since John was only doing his journal. I am pretty sure it became a forum in 1999, at least that when I am pretty sure I became a member. Been the only social media for me since.
Best I can gather we received a total of 7" with this last round of LES. Initially it was sugar snow, then a light mist of rain when the temp reached 31, temp dropped to 26 late morning then snowed all day into the evening. Winds got crazy through the night into the early morning. Schools were...
Bingo- 1972 Chaparral Firebird SSX - In 1972 auto racing legend & Indy 500 champion Bobby Unser & Chaparral engineers copied race car technology to create the first snowmobile with independent front suspension. The design was a precursor to the Polaris Indy TXL 340 in 1980 and later adopted by...
I would say so, All schools have been cancelled today with the expectation of the worst. Temps rose to 30 this a.m. with a light mist on top of the 2" of snow we had overnight, kind of a mess, temps are suppose to drop once the front clears & kick in the snow guns again. 7 days straight so far...
