The Keweenaw........

We have a Winter Storm Warning for today (12-22) & a Blizzard Warning for Fri 23rd & Sat 24th. We are going to have it rough here for a few days. Looks like well over 30" in the next 3 days.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 7p tonight to 7a Thurs, then a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Sun. Light snow at the moment & a balmy +10f. The Calm before the storm perhaps? All I can say is it was nice to have a break today as yesterday the snow needed to be moved...

Here in the banana belt of the Keweenaw, we received 3" over night, more up in the Calumet area of course & a little nippy this morning with a temp of +6f. Suppose to be calm through the day today, then the snow gates are suppose to start to open. It's going to be interesting for the next few days.

That is sad news, thank you mnkid for letting us know this. He was a regular on this site for many years & he will be missed. Condolences to you & his family & friends. God Bless. RIP Grub.

I wish I could spread the wealth, we damn sure don't need to get pummeled like that, but, it appears to be inevitible. On top of the snowfall, we are going to have winds like no other with gusts over 50 mph. Can you say BLEEZARD??!!

I've decided this morning that our offices will be closed on Friday. I was initially only going to be closed on the obsesrved holiday that being Monday the 26th but in light of the crap conditions bearing down on us I figured it would be safer to just extend the Christmas break & play it safe...

There is also Trailside Lodge on US 41 just outside of Calumet. Not sure if they have 2 seaters though....

I would rent 2 two seaters, it would be a little more fun IMO. As far as riding conditions, it's off roading, bumpy, dusty, rocky, sometimes muddy in spots, water crossing here & there, but it's all good. That is what it's all about, get at it and enjoy!

I didn't realize that they came that way. It looks like it could be a an easy piece to break if one were to get bounced to the rear of the seat or catch the corner of it by someone getting off of it. I was just observing & thought it looked odd. It's all good....
