the heated shield on the oxygen is not meant to melt ice. Only keep it from fogging up. I have one and I was in the same icy crap today on and off and had to use the scraper on my glove half the day. Sure would be nice if a heated shield actually melting ice on the outside of the shield too!

Goofy, good thing you posted that. I replied while adding in the section up to L'Anse. That's what was the 250 mile range. MJW66 was asking about the shorter loop. My mistake.
