Favorite stops from back in the day..

I broke a torsion spring on my fusion one trip up there. Didn't have much choice but I kept riding it and made sure I stood up if there were any bumps. It wasn't too bad on one spring. But on the last leg of the loop on the way back to the truck in Searchmont and about a mile from Halfway Haven...

Favorite stops from back in the day..

For now yeah. There are a number of issues going on there but the biggest is that the seasonal road that is used to get gas to it has some significant wash outs so that you can't get gas to it. They've also had troubles finding operators and the building is in need of some TLC. It would probably...

Favorite stops from back in the day..

Had some good times at the bar in Mass City the past few winters. It's hard not to be in a good mood when you are sitting there, whether you excited about the upcoming day's ride or rehashing the day you just finished. The pizza always hits the spot. Always liked the wawa motor inn too. And...

    All Things Christmas

We got an 84 Bravo brand new for Christmas. Still have a picture of my 3 brothers and I all sitting on our around it, in t shirts and shorts, as that Christmas was so warm. Here's for hoping this winter is just a bad start!

    We were spoiled

I remember that NW Indiana storm in 97-98 (may have been 98-99 but that doesn't matter). I lived in that area and was home from college as I had surgery and was home recovering. A couple of my buds drove their sleds over from several towns over (mostly just riding down the streets), partly to...

    Is Everyone Ready?

I'm not ready. Never seem to get ready until around Christmas. I don't have a whole lot to do but I do need to change the driveshaft bearing. Sled is at a bud's garage a couple hours away and that makes it hard to make time to get at. Kids keep me too busy but that's fun too....

    We were spoiled

We definitely were spoiled. I suppose it doesn't matter so much yet this year with the stupid super el nino but I'm still checking.

Nora Dee has this to say...

Thank you for sharing your wonderful journal. I'm sure this site took some time away from more important things over the years, and thanks for putting up with that. Somehow I think I've been reading it since about the beginning. I got hooked on it in college and remember reading about his...

    The Journal; Thoughts from Gracie

I don't have much to add to what others have written, but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your thoughts in this journal. It was great to read, especially since he talked so much about you in the journal over the years.

    Inline trailer loading

3 place inline. 3 similar sleds. Always load from front to exit in back. We are big on properly warming them up properly and it's easier to nurse them out of the trailer that way.

    Future of snowmobiling in Michigan!

I'm my mid-40's now - it won't be long before my kids are grown and I'll have more free time, and it seems that that will be just at the time the fun police take away all the things I like to do... Realistically though this will all blow up as you can't legislate technology into existence.

    Future of snowmobiling in Michigan!

Without reliable and affordable energy, snowmobiling will be the low on the list of MI's issues.

    Catalyst delivery?

I like the red ones too. Next sled is not yet in the cards for me for a couple years.

So Where Do We Go From Here?

Selfishly I hope it can continue. There's a tone on this board different than most others, and it doesn't have the keyboard warriors for the most part either. Members have always been quick offer advice and help solve issues and just share their stories. And there's some good natured...

    John Dee

Thanks to those of you who knew him well that are leaving comments. As someone that didn’t know him personally but followed him for decades on here I was always impressed by his positivity even with all the health issues. I’ve been reading comments on here today. I feel so awful for the loss his...

So sorry to hear this. I don't have words. Met him once, been on this site since about the beginning, but I feel like I know him anyway. Prayers for his wife and daughter and family and friends.
