    Marquette March 4 - 7

Yea, that made me laugh as well. I wondered if it was intentional . . . Is there much riding being done in the Kee? With limited fresh snow I’m assuming trails are pretty rough?

We saw no evidence of any grooming. I don’t believe grooming was done after last weekend. The temps were too high and then the last storm hit late on Sunday. My guess is there was no reason to groom on 3/31.

    Marquette March 4 - 7

I was blessed to get my end of year ride in this week. We've ridden the Michagamee area quite a bit this year largely because of the low traffic and shorter distance from home. They received about a foot of fresh snow Sunday. That area certainly delivered again for us! Below are some pics of...

    Daylight Savings; Opinion Poll

It makes me laugh that we force millions of people to change their clocks twice a year for no clear reason. Perhaps there is some value in demonstrating that Americans can follow simple directions? I would be happy if this was the last time we had to change our clocks due to DST.

I’m holding out hope for a bit more riding this year. As crappy of a year it was last season, we still had one last ride on April 6. But if it is indeed over, I’m satisfied with this season. It couldn’t have ended on a better trip.

    Marquette March 4 - 7

The first time I've experienced a storm like that while camping. It was great being able to share it with folks who've never experienced winter in the UP. Very fun!

    Marquette March 4 - 7

Several weeks ago, I planned a camping/Snowmobile Trip with my oldest sister and her husband. Neither of them had ridden sleds in many years, and neither had been to Marquette. We picked the Rippling River Campground due to its great amenities and close proximity to Marquette, just in case...

    03/01

The start of the dogsled race Friday night was crazy windy. Nearly blizzard conditions. We rode 125 miles on Saturday. About 75 were great, the rest was pretty beat, especially after about 2 pm. Lots of sleds on the eastern side Saturday afternoon. Some pretty decent drifts up on Brockway...

    Catalyst impression so far

I’m seeing similar 18 mpg on my 2024 ZR600. Oddly enough, my wife now says the Catalyst is the best fit for her, so I’m back on the xf9000 turbo (her last favorite sled).

    Ishpeming Trail Conditions

I rode the Ishpeming area each of the last 2 weeks. Trail 8 was fantastic on Sunday until just before Nestoria, where the Baraga groomers take over. I didn’t ride past Nestoria, so I can’t say for sure but my assumption is that it didn’t get any better as it got closer to Baraga. Trail 18...

The annual 24-25 how many miles thread!

So far it's been 5 trips to the UP with 1,100 miles total. A couple of those trips with my wife and friends, so the average daily miles isn't what it used to be. Heading to Colorado next week. Hopefully the UP will continue to deliver well into April this year.

    Happy Birthday bayfly

Thanks for the BD wishes. Returned yesterday from a weekend of riding with my wife and friends based on Lake Michigamee. The trails in that area were once again fantastic. That whole area seems so remote and just beautiful. Celebrated last evening with our 3 kids, 6 grandkids, and my 87 y/o...

    Ishpeming Trail Conditions

Returned yesterday from our trip to Negaunee. We rode through Ishpeming, Republic, and Big Bay. The trails were fantastic everywhere we went. There is not as much snow as in the eastern or western UP, but with little to no traffic the groomed trails held up wonderfully. Between our last 60...

    Ishpeming Trail Conditions

I’m staying with a group at the Negaunee Train Depot this coming Monday thru Thursday (1/27 - 1/30). I know the snow is great to the east, but some in my group would prefer not to trailer each day. It’s seems difficult to get any trail information for the Ishpeming/Big Bay Area. Does anyone...

    Conditions in the Kee?

We got home from our stay in Calumet yesterday. Our last ride was Sunday. We headed south to Hancock, crossed the bridge, and planned to ride to South Range. The first mile or so on 3 was brutal so we turned around. Stopped for breakfast at the cafe on the river next to Roy’s. We headed up...

    Conditions in the Kee?

We did a quick 30 mile ride from Calumet south thru Hancock on 17. Then up 3 through Lake Linden. It was late in the day on Friday. Trails were a little rough but better than expected. Today we rode 3 over Broakway into Copper Harbor. Then134 to Lac LaBelle. Stopped at Frosty's, which was a...

    Conditions in the Kee?

I'm heading up with a group this weekend (1/17) and basing out of Calumet. I've seen some favorable reports, but a guy in our group sent me this report from today. It sounds to me like riding north of the bridge is sketchy. Does anyone have firsthand info on the current conditions, other than...
