i picked up an 03 f7 this year and found the secondary was shot so i bought a used one from a friend, replaced the spring and helix or torque bracket whatever you call it, the roller cams looked really good so i left them on
i rode 20 miles maybe last sat and last night i see that the roller cams are all smashed up again, what would cause that?
the sled has a new track that was put on last year if that would matter....
im at wits end and frustrated between being sick during the last storm and now this ......again....
thanks ahead of time

I would grab the secondary and check end play of the unit and each shiv. I would also put it on a stand and run up the rpms and watch the secondary for abnormal movement i.e bad jackshaft bearing or bent shaft. If all looks good than I would think that something is wrong with the secondary somewhere?

Ya definately check the shaft and bearings...that is some quick weardown....would think vibration or noise would be made by something.

i guess that it could just be bad luck and that the used one was already going bad but it didn't look like it

No it wasn't smacked up before this they did put anew track on it right before I got it I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have noticed the clutch being bad when they did that
I bought it from my boss and his kid is the one that got hurt real bad last week so I'll have to wait to quiz him about who put it on
I wonder if they shimmed /aligned it wrong? I just put it back together the way it came Apart
I picked up another one from a friend yesterday but it's the old non rolling type so I am still looking for one
I need to find someone who knows about aligning before I wreck another one
I'm still nursing sore ribs so I prob won't ride today anyway, I could ride the old Indy I guess we are snowed/drifted in right now too!
Thanks for the input I'll try and check motor mounts and such today

had a friend give me an old style non roller and it looks fine after an hour of playing in the drifts yesterday
i'm still looking for a correct replacement and going to keep a close eye on this one!
had someone else double check my shim placement and ran the sled with the track up and the clutches, shaft, belt movement appear correct
its guess its possible that i just had bad luck but i'm doubtful.....

went for an hour ride in the power trying to see how my ribs would feel and checked the secondary and it appears to be holding up just fine, maybe it was just bad luck, not convinced yet though....
