the noise i mentioned in a belt noise post appears to be the secondary blowing up.
obviously i need a new helix and roller cams but is the damage on the sheathes or whatever they are called normal?
what about the wear on the main shaft?
i have never had one of these apart before so any input would be helpful!
i bought this from a friend last year and only rode it 60-80 miles so far
i dont go north very often but obviously want the sled to be reliable
we have the best snow of the year right now and it looks like i will have to ride the ole reliable indy 500 to get my fix..... for now
thanks!

I would say replace the whole secondary. You don't want those scuffs, any friction is not good. I got a great replacement secondary for my 02 ZR 800 off e bay for like $50 bucks. It was for a 600cc so I replaced the spring and helix to an 800cc and it was perfect.

I would also replace I think one reason u have the scuffing is the bushing is shot and u have a ton of slop . the secondary is cheep I would say u can find a rebuilt for about 150 /170

I found a friend of a friend with a rebuilt secondary for a 900 that they say will work on the 700, he paid $200 and will take $50
He updated his sleds and doesnt run that style anymore so its just on the rack in the trailer!

I just picked up a rebuilt secondary but instead of 53 deg helix it says 62/54
what will that do to me?
will i have to adjust timing or anything?

so i replaced the spring and helix and used the rollers that were on it as they looked good but after a 20 mile ride they are all smashed up, what causes this?
