05 duramax question

I had what appears to be a similar problem a number of years ago with my 05 duramax, sounds like almost identical issue, it turned out to be a failed injector connector, got it changed and have never had a problem since. It did not look bad and took 3 dealerships to figure it out, the final one that diagnosed it and changed it had it figured out and changed in an hour

I hope that is it also, when I stopped to talk to OZ, I told him what happened and he told me about that and looked it up on the computer and it stated to check the injector plug on #7 and possibly #1 injector. The computor also listed the wiring harness where it goes over the alternator bracket as something to check, they rub and wear through over the years.

Our mechanic took me home at lunch, attached a tow strap and towed me the 15 mile to the dealership at 55-60 mph! Talk about a white nuckle ride, the tow strap was normal length which meant that I could only see about 12" of strap over my hood and behind his bumper, and it had been raining hard and still was lightly, and for some reason it wouldn't idle normal like it had before so I had to turn it off and run without power most of the way!

so I dropped the truck off yesterday at the dealer to get it looked at
last night when I went to leave work I got it my car and turned the key and it just went "click", wouldn't start, took the company van home and drank beer, today is another day, i wonder how today is going to go.......

put a new starter in the car at lunch and its fixed
they called about the truck and said it is the injector clip on #7 and #2, they are rewiring it now and hopefully will be done yet today

yep,
$125.00 for a starter and the car is running fine again
$425.00 for new plugs on #2 and #7 injectors and it made it home, seems fixed. they didn't just cut them off and rewire but instead rewired the plugs into the harness correctly
a friend of mine has the same year duramax and brought his in for a waterpump thursday, $815.00! I had heard that you had to take off the front of the motor, harmonic balancer, starter.. all to replace the water pump, but jeesh
