i just picked up this year a 05 gade 600 sdi that is only getting 13 mpg .i have a 05 600 sdi short track i have had since new and it at the worst gets 16 mpg .road it 500 miles so far with new high octane gas to make sure that it was not that and with other behind me getting 19 mpg .the plugs are black but seems to run ok .no fouling or loading up .when i picked it up i pulled the exhaust valves and cleaned them they were not bad .put in the br8ecs plugs .i checked the ski tow .i did put in 162 picks and the track is not over tight .if any thing on the loose side .i think this mpg should be better or is this what i will get with the longer track .i just think the plugs are to black for this to be programed correct .is there different mapping or am i on the wrong track .also all miles so far have been on good trails .it is stock with no gearing done to it .the rpms are in the same range as my short track .when i got it had 2100 miles on it .i did check compression it is fine .thanks for any help .

A 136" sled is not going to get the same mpg as a 121" sled. The gearing and clutching are different between your two sleds. The foot print of your renegade on the snow is larger that the shorty, which causes more resistance on the track. You also said that you added studs, which added some more weight to the sled. My 05 600 sdi renegade gets about 13-15 mpg. I think that your sled is fine, just ride it.

I used to have a 600 sdi mxz shorty and id get 9-11 mpg. its all how you use the flipper. (when i was nice to her i could see 18 though and my mom could get 21 on hers lol)

I have the same sled, 3 others in the family do as well. We get between 15 and 17 mpg when trail riding (easy in and out of the corners, accel light to brisk and cruising between 40-60 mph) Not sure how wed do when riding off trail.

I did have a problem with mine when new running rich and fouling plugs every 100 miles like clockwork. The dealer did a ECU reflash and switched me to a BR8ECS plug from the 9. Have not had a problem since. Did not check mileage before and after so I cannot say it improved.

They are great sleds. all 4 have between 4000-5000 miles and have not had any issues besides the reflash to mine.
