Does the altimeter setting on the digital display affect the engine/timing/etc. in any way shape or form? Or is it just informational?
I don't think I have the optional sensor but the altimeter display just reads 15,000 meters. Since that's not a realistic number, is that just what it defaults to if you don't have the sensor?
The sensor kit says that it will work on all IQ sleds except for the 600 HO Carb. Maybe it affects the efi's but is a mute point on a carb sled?

On a carb for Polaris, it does nothing. There is no electronic portion of the fuel injection for that motor. It's all mechanical. Although SkiDoo does have electronic adjustment on a carb motor. But for that sled, it's just for information. You have to change weights on the clutch and change the jets in the carbs to match the elevation you are riding in (assuming you are going to the Mtn's). fyi - moot :p
