The problems with the Fusions, were the 900 Fusions, the 600 is a great sled. There were some updates that needed to be done, check and make sure they were done.

New gas tank, new carb boots, brace for the bottom of the chaincase, helps keep it from leaking, that is all I can think of off the top of my head for now.

There was a throtle cable fix too.

Just ask the dealer to pull up the VIN and they can tell you if any or all of them have been done, and what Polaris has said needs to be done.

My Fusion was awesome. Little slow at the top end (my sled), as others were faster, but it was a great sled. Moved up to a 09 RMK this year....

I bought that sled last year slightly used. Enjoyed it. I had to get the gas tank recall done. Nothing wrong with the 600 if the updates are done. Steering takes more effort than it should. There are discussions on snowest, on here or on hardcoresledder related to that. I am going to try bergstrom's solution for this year (needed new wear bars anyway):

XC is the model and Edge is the type of suspension. From 2000 up, XC's came with an Edge or M-10 suspension.

IMO - If you are considering an Edge over a Fusion then you would be wasting your money. The Fusion suspension is far more superior. It eats the moguls.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 600 Fusion. I have one and have no problems with it. The Fusion's bad rep comes from the 900 and the 900 only!

Agree Zaskar! Don't get pushed away from the 600 because of the 900 Motor issues. The recalls were minor things. Of which almost all new models have.

The Fusion with the IQ suspension is 100% better than the Edge Suspension. Hands down. Not even a contest. I'd never even consider buying myself an Edge chasis ever again.

I've ridden a fusion 600 for 3 seasons without any trouble. I had the updates done. 3700 miles without issue. Original belt lasted 3000 miles. The 600 is a very strong motor. I do happen to have mine listed on JD for sale, only because I am switching to a mountain sled this season. Not trying to plug it, but wanted to weigh in on the topic.

x2 for zaskar. i too own one. converted it to a 136" last year. other than steering being something that you need to work with. has been a strong sled for me. and have encountered 0 problems with it. as stated the "fusion" got bad rap from the introduction of the 900.

I came off of an Edge and on to a Fusion. NO WAY i would ever go back. The Fusion is like riding on air compared to the Edge. Havn't had a single problem with the motor either.

Do you like Doo Revs? Better sled if you can find 2004 or newer low mile cherry. Rev sitting postion was too cramped for me but real good sleds & easy to sell. You need to make sure rings were correctd on Rev engines but sleds handle very well.

i have a 06 fusion 600 that my son drives now with over 11000 miles on and i still like driving it (if my son lets me) very good sled , with very few problems, and all updates done.

sleds were awesome... update all steering to the 08 or 09 'A' arm with the 09 spindles.. impressive on steering feels like power steering

Here is the story on the Fusion Model. In 05 and 06 Polaris went to the "up" riding position to follow suit with the other big boys. They rolled out the Fusion 600, 700, and 900. The problems with the 900 motor was a huge problem for the Fusion line. It was such a huge problem and so widespread, it drew acclaim from the 600 and 700's. Basically, the 600's were great sleds that had a few minor recalls, LIKE ALL SLEDS DO REGARDLESS OF MANUFACTURER. These 900 issues caused Polaris to discontinue the Fusion line, and go to the IQ line.

Now the cool part has arose. The bad press on the Fusions, has caused the value of them to take a big hit, but the 600 is still a great sled. I bought a stock 600 with 300 miles on it last year for $4K. Put 1300 miles on it with ABSOLUTELY no problems until I wrapped it around a tree stump in Eagle River in early February. (I then moved to a 08 FST Dragon which was a steal as well.) I was so confident in the 600 Fusion, I found a brand new 06 Fuse 600 (still in the crate) in July at Iron Mountain for under $5k!!! I snatched it up for my girlfriend.

Bottom line is, the 2006 Fusion 600 is a perfectly fine sled, and the prices are great!!! BUY ONE NOW, if you have a chance!
