09 Ski-doo Summit 600 - Any thoughts?

I am considering a 09 Ski-doo Summit 600. Price is good, just wondering if there has been any issues with these. I like to ride off trail a lot, but still have to put a lot of trail miles on each year, do they handle well on the trail? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

I've talked to the resort guys out west about these as I am considering buying one myself. Probably the 500SS with the 600 carb in it. The resort guys say this sled continued to be their most problem free sled in their rental fleets. They are definately underpowered for the mountains but do the trick for people trying to save a few bucks renting. Personally I think the 600 is the perfect U.P. sled. I currently have an 07 Rev 600 and it is powered perfectly for off trail. I've riden my buddies 800 and it's just too much when diving into creeks and ditches. The 800 darn near rips my arms out of their sockets! Dave go for it! It's the perfect U.P. sled!

rejet the 500ss thay are running verry leen to meet epa standards I know of 1 that stuck a piston with less than 300mi and again with about 800 dealer rejeted fatter never a prob again.I also read about the prob in a recent rag check the nov snowtech

Get some ice scratchers and drop them for trail riding and duck off the side often and it will be fine (that's all lug height talking). I think people make a bigger deal than needs to be made about driving a long track on the trail. Unless you plan on running railroad grades all day at 90 and/or practice for sno-cross they work fine. I drive my 153" M8 from Gwinn to whereever I ride off trail and it does fine on the trail. I think the Summit has a better trail friendly rear suspension than the M does (this from experience on both) and having the swaybar likely also seems to make it turn/handle corners better too. For off trail riding both of those points I like better about the M but anyways..... Do you want to give up a little bit of trail manners (trust me my M can still sail down the trails if/when desired) for a totally different machine when off trail or do you want a machine that does better on trail and in a totally different class off trail?

P.S. - We should ride together sometime since we're in the same general area.

Scottd - Definitely look me up before you are in this neck of the woods. I ride to my buddies camp just northwest of Gwinn a lot.
