48 degrees on the truck coming into work this morning. With the exception of a few small parking lot snow piles, by noon we will be at July 15th conditions in Green Bay. Only without the mosquitoes!

40 here in the central U.P. Grass is showing and by the end of the day we'll be left with only banks. Crazy how fast the snow melted probably because what was there was so light and dry. I read the forecast discussion on the NWS site last night and they were talking about a warm up starting around the 19th of the month taking us through the end of the month with more storms but of the mixed precipitation variety. Bad news for us. JD doesn't show this so there must be conflict with the computer models so we'll hold onto the thought of more winter like weather instead of warmer pacific air.

40 all yesterday, what was supposed to transition to snow quickly this morning started as rain for 3 hours to freezing rain to a dusting of snow. The vehicles are coated with ice and unless we get more snow later the kids won't even be able to ride in the fields. As of ten o'clock last night we we where supposed to get 3-6 inches not this. I hope the radar is wrong and Northeast Wisconsin and the western U.P. aren't getting all the rain the radar shows. Wish the weather would just cooperate for a while.

No thaw yesterday for me and woke up to somewhere between 4-6+" fresh snow this morning and still snowing lightly at the moment with the wind whipping around. Schools all delayed or cancelled in the area today.

Just got above freezing yesterday, didn't affect the snow. Couple feet on the ground, 5-10" forecast tonight.

It snowed here from yesterday afternoon until this morning, I would guess we ended up with about 5 inches but it is hard to tell, the wind has been gusting in the mid 40mph range since yesterday afternoon, the current temp is -7 and the wind chill is -36

All forecasters should start off with 2-4 inches and see what happens, I remember 20 years ago once , we were up north with minimal snow to ride and actually loaded sleds back up to come home and they were calling for a few inches of snow and pow, woke up to a nice fresh 11" of white gold, unloaded sleds and rode all weekend. technology is so far advanced, I think they over do themselves. Its just let down after let down, I need a new sport.

I agree about needing a new sport. Trails in Illinois have been closed since 12/2016! Even when I plan on coming up north (two weeks from now) the weather doesn't cooperate. For some reason I stay in it though.

We have about 4-5” now. Still snowing and should snow for another couple of hours. I agree with finding a different sport, it can be really frustrating with no snow year after year. I will spend 3 of the next 4 weeks in the UP but I shouldn’t have to do that. We belong to a dying sport mostly because of lack of snow but also price of sleds. We as a club would like to recruit younger people into the club and get them brushing and signing so 15-20 years from now they can take over but who wants to join when you can never ride. My son makes comments about how he only rides 3 days a year in Michigan. Between school and his hockey season and no snow to ride local he is right. Rant over!

There is no stopping the weather hype machine...cripes, they now "name" the slightest snow event.

How about when it is 72 degrees with low wind and humidity....should it be named "pleasant day Larry"?....is that far off?

So why do we do this to ourselves. Either the snow doesn't fall, the temps are out of whack, or life in general gets in the way. I'm not the type to go to movies every weekend, nor do I get much time away from home. I'm sure there are things more convenient then snowmobiling, but when I can get away I enjoy it. It has its own way of getting under your skin. Some of the best people I have met have been connected to the sport. So I guess hears to the next storm, a change in the season for the better. Hey if all else fails I guess I'll eventually have to move to Alaska.

3/4" here in the Central U.P. Not enough to cover the grass that is now exposed after all the rain and warmth yesterday. We'll need at least a foot to open trails.
