Just wanted to update....our trails are not closed...but the clubs are advising people not to ride, to save the base....it's raining and has been all morning.....and this crappy warm, wet weather looks to continue into next week.
The lakes are slushy in spots....but...if you really have the bug to ride...come out to lake Nokomis, tomorrow ( Saturday)...for Toby's annual Vintage Poker run...it will be wet, but it will be a lot of fun...they start at Holly's tomorrow (I think 10 am)....with various stops on lake Nokomis...lunch will be at the Mayday's Fishtrap....I cannot recall all of the stops (going off memory here)...you can get all the info at Holly's....but if you are looking to ride and have fun..come do the poker run, and check out all the vintage sleds...it's always a blast.

Otherwise...my sled is parked until we get more snow, and colder weather...so no trail reports from me until conditions improve...We are in a holding pattern TFN :(

How did the lakes and base hold up through the warm rainy days? Do you think the predicted snow will change conditions enough to ride? Looking to ride this weekend and trying to decide if northern Wisconsin is an option or just go to the UP if that's even an option.

Lakes are very slushy....lots of water...wet areas from earlier this year, are wet again.....and (unless they are wrong)...the local weather guys and NWS are tracking this storm further south and west of the northwoods....only calling for 1-3 through tomorrow at noon...if we get 3 plus...I'd say come on up...less than 3...and I'd wait...their is colder weather in the forecast, so some of the wets sloppy areas should firm up...but this is not a big storm by any means, and at this point is is going to miss us :(

don't think this snow fall is going up by you attak man.
here in SW wis. we got about 2 inches down supposed to get 3-5.
it's a start but there is so much dam water in the fields and in ditch's from the thaw and all the rain we had we almost need like 30 inches of new snow to cover it up.
