Well how one goes about getting the job I have..... E.P.A federal government job, more the less a environmental specialist. I kinda work for the U.S national parks system not total affiliated. More or less ties to the federal government.
Like I said, I study the effect snow and snow melt has on forest growth(plant life) and wildlife. I simply take intel on areas all over the U.S including Alaska. Where I ride until June and July. mostly exclusive to helicopter access. mostly ride there around those time in some extreme altitudes 13,500+. My riding season is from end of September until June, July time. I have rode countless times that late in Montana and colorado also.
There are a ton of areas around the U.S that get an in creditable amount of snow pack each year. A lot of those places most would not think to ride or are not accessible to most people. Arizona has snow most of the winter in the near the flagstaff area. California has some of the deepest snow in the country year after year.
A few years ago 2005 or 06??? near Kirkwood ski resort there was a record snowfall that year. They Reported 800+ INCHES OF SNOW THAT YEAR. NEARLY 80 FEET OF SNOW. I clearly remember wearing a t-shirt and shorts at the airport then getting there and experiencing that. I remember riding along and hitting what felt like a bump. kinda weird when there is that much snow. sure enough I discovered that obstructing was a home owners chimney!!!!! the house covered in snow. I found out from a local that house was a A frame summer cabin that stood 35+ feet plus.
Enough rambling. I love telling stories and sharing stories. I am now able to get a new camera and will soon again get back to posting
