I'm currently buying Amsoil Full Synthetic for both my sleds, it costs over $35 per gallon. I'm a firm believer in Amsoil and it has proven itself in my sleds......... 11,500 miles before I puked the engine. But I'm having a hard time justifying over $35 per gallon, surely theres another oil out there which does just as good a job but costs less. Please no product bashing, just the facts please.

I've used Arctic Blue (white jug) for many years, in both my Cats and Polaris. Fleet Farm under $16.00 a gal
I've tried to find better without luck. Tried Amsoil, Polaris VES, Injex and others, this is better IMO

There's probably 10 oils that people on here swear by or at, but if you got 11,500 on your engine, why change? My bud's Cat 700 put about 12,000 on with Amsoil before he got a different sled but you need a lot of things to go right to get that far. I ran it in my Poos, but it didn't stop me from crashing my XC and it didn't stop the carb boot from tearing on my Fusion, so I have no idea how far those engines would have gone on it.

Seriously? You think $35 per gal is too much?????? Price a gal of any sled OEM oil, you'll think you stole it at that price.-Mezz

That's probably a conservative estimate! :)

And my standard answer is.....find the one that is the best match for 1) meeting or exceeding the requirements set forth by your sled manufacturer, 2) is pleasing to your wallet, and 3) (optional) is pleasing to your nose. If you do that, and you're a recreational user (i.e., not a racer and/or heavily modded) then oil is oil is oil. Paying more does not necessarily mean better oil, and paying less does not necessarily mean "junk" oil.

Interceptor is targeted at serious snowmobile riders who put on a lot of miles and want a product that is dedicated to snow. AMSOIL Interceptor supports the need for the ultimate in performance and protection for the most advanced two-stroke engines, including Ski-Doo E-Tec and Arctic Cat C-Tec. Its proven performance meets the specialized demands for valve cleanliness, piston wear and cold flow.

Injector Oil is targeted at customers who place a high value on convenience, with one product for marine and snowmobiles. It is ideal for owners of older outboard engines and snowmobiles who want the confidence and superior synthetic protection that comes from AMSOIL products.

The synthetic design of AMSOIL Injector Oil provides a high level of lubricity which directly relates to wear protection of pistons and bearings. AMSOIL Injector Oil is excellent for outboard motors, snowmobiles and other applications requiring TC-W3 (water cooled engines) or API TC (air cooled engines). Other benefits include –
Convenience – One oil for multiple applications
Compatible with other oils allows oils to be mixed without concern, although it is always advisable to minimize mixing for best performance
Injector oil or 50:1 premix
Excellent cold flow properties
Formulated for low deposits, low smoke and low odor

HP Marine is targeted at marine enthusiasts who spend a lot of time on the water and want a product that provides the ultimate in protection and performance and which is purpose-built for outboards and is capable of meeting the most demanding EOM requirements, including the Evinrude factory-lean setting.
