2000 Arctic Cat z370 idle problem

Hoping someone can help me find a solution for my kids sled. It is Arctic Cat z370, 2000. We can get it started without a problem and run it as long as the RPM's stay up. As soon as we let off the gas, rpm's drop and wont catch at an idle point. Gas lines look good, all new gas, running sea foam in gas, carb was recently cleaned. Any good suggestions greatly appreciated. I would prefer not to take to shop as that puts me out over a week right now.

Thanks.

I agree it's the pilot jet. Had a Yamaha a few years back that I cleaned carbs just like I had done every year since I bought it new and when I was done it would not idle. So I took them apart again and pilot jet was plugged up. Must have happened when I started it up and knocked something loose and wedged in the jet. Started it again and all was good.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciated it. Didn't really think that if carb was cleaned that something could mess it up right away, but it makes sense. Thanks again.

Will it stay running if you give it a slight amount of throttle? If so, it could also be your TSS (throttle safety system) The easy way to check that is to unplug the 3 prong connector that comes from the thumb throttle assy. The connector is usually somewhere around the top of the steering column. If the sled idles fine when that is unplugged, It's probably a TSS problem. It could just be your throttle cable tension needs to be adjusted.

first off check spark plug doink on end if screw type, they come loose with vibration, retighten and try. (in future always buy the solid top spark plugs) then follow the choke cable down to the carb and a little brass nut on that wire, you loosen that and gently...gently...see if that slides up and down very easily but be careful as it is attached to a brass choke plunger...sea foam is your worst enemy...and you will see why if that plunger is tight and theres green sandy spooge all around it cause that's what seafoam does when it dries up and sits long time or coagulates....always use TECHRON additive instead...and only premium gas and only branded gas as there has been a formula switch lately and it spews but that's for another thread. if you did not add premium gas to old gas and shake sled first and then added more peefoam and then pulled the cord....you just surged AUNT JEMIMAHS GREEN PEEFOAM into those nice clean jets you talked about...and the TPS....you can simply check that by looking at that plastic pin in the thumb throttle....is it loose...does the thumb throttle piece have a lot of movement...there should only be 1/16 of play between the thumb piece and hard stop of throttle block....if theres play around that pin and the hole is oversized or elongated its shot and sled wont run right...get a new pin....let us know if this shazz works...good luck...I owned a 1999 370 meself once
