2001 Indy 500 Coolant Refill?

The kid was buzzing around the yard with only 2 inches of snow, overheated the Indy 500 and boiled it out the overflow bottle. Thankfully he shut it down when the temp light came on so no engine damage.

What's the best way to refill without getting an air pocket?

Thanks - Skutr

No different then filling your car radiator. take cap off full it line, start sled, when level drops, keep filling to line until it stays there. put cap in and shut off. the overflow bottle may overflow when you do that. don't worry about it.

Raise the front of the sled above the rear bumper, loosen bleeder screw on top of thermostat houseing( top hose coming out of head), remove filler cap, fill with fluid and run until hot adding as needed, tighten bleeder screw, replace cap,let cool off, next time run check again

Thanks guys! I also found it on Vintagesleds.com under the 1999 Polaris engine service manual - page 87. Looks easy enough.

I used to raise the front end of the sled but found it makes no difference. Just fill to the full line and ride.
