how may miles will the drivers last on this sled? there is less then 4000 on it. yesterday I tightened and it still slipped. It does not have the stock track on it. The knobs for the drivers look in good shape. Will the chain case make a louder nose or a different nose if the chain is slipping.

Thanks for the help

Chain case noise is alot different and I would say you would hear it on acceleration were as ratcheting could be heard on both acceleration and braking. Changing the sliders would if anything tighten the track because you would be decreasing the clearance of the sliders to the track from wear of the older sliders so therefore that should not be responsible for the noise unless you did not tighten the track back up to the old setting since I gather this noise just started after the sliders were changed? Check for proper track deflection as per your owners manual. Hope this helps. Hope this helps.

Sorry, read your post again. I guess you did not change your sliders. If you could discribe the ratcheting issue better I might be able to figure out if it is your track or chain or maybe something else.

Might want to check the chain tensioner, some of the cats used a plastic slider on the chain, and they can wear out. Grab the secondary (not running) and roll it back and forth. It should engage the track within a 1/2-3/4" of movement. (or less) if it goes a lot farther than that, the drive chain is way too loose.(models with mechanical reverse may move farther than those without)

It must be the track it would only do it in the old crappy snow that we had. Just got back from 100 mile ride and it did it in the hard pack. I'm going to extend it to 136 this summer I will put new drivers on at that time. Does it work to turn them around?

I had to replace the drive on my 2003 Z570 this year, sled had 5200 miles.

I think I may have been running track a little too loose.

I have had this problem before.I would bet its the chain that stretched and is skipping on the gears.(sounds just like a track skipping)If you don't have reverse and don't have an auto adjuster in the chain case I bet your adjuster bolt is almost bottomed out.Check this sooner then later because it will cost more money if the chain breaks.(very common problem for chains to stretch and break)

shouldn't a chain last longer then 3680 miles? the chain adjuster is maxed out but it is because I changed the gearing. The secondary only moves back and fourth about 1/2 to 3/4 in.

Sometimes they do sometimes they don't.I don't know why but I only have seen the cat chains stretch and have broken plates on the chain.
