Hi,
I just put v force 3 reeds in my sled, before i did this i had no problems starting it, now it pulls over probably around 6-8 times before it starts, i also put new spark plugs in it after it wouldn't start easy, it seems to run good when started, but we have no snow so i can't test it. The sled only has around 2800 miles on it as well. The fuel pump is also working, i pulled the line when pulling it over and its pushing fuel. Any help would be great

that is a cat/vforce thing every efi cat I have owned and put in vforce has required a pinch of throttle to start on first pull.
the worst part is the complete lack of diff on a otherwise stock sled
had the lights set up a few diff times on zr600 zr900 and f7 and no time diff in 660 between stock and v force.
but with pipes porting etc they make some improvement.
but if spraying nos best to stick with stock, v force wont last a season on spray

Still having problems

I'm still having problems starting her, just won't pop off right away and still no snow to test how it runs wide open, any other ideas to what it could be?
Thanks

Yes I tried it with that, is there anything that I could have put on wrong that would have messed with it, it goes reed to block with that plastic spacer in-between then flange to efi set up correct?

Are the reeds new or used? Check and make sure that the reed pedals are sealing to the cage. Its a pretty simple job to install the reeds. The only other thing I could coud come up with is the stator is week.

I have an '04 Firecat 600 I picked 5 or 6 yrs ago that's piped clutched and has V Force reeds. It always started 1st or 2nd pull until the end of last season. Now I too have to pinch the throttle a bit to start when it's warmed up. It starts fine, 1st-2nd pull, when it's cold. I was wondering if maybe I was loosing fuel pressure at the fuel rail...(weak pump/fuel filter(if it has one).
How would I ck for a weak stator?

I just realized that is has a broken power valve cable could that be doing anything, when it starts also it hits then dies then the next pull it will either start or die again, very rough running till it climbs rpms, if the stator was bad would the fuel pump be pumping strong everytime you pulled it over?

The valve cable will make it run bad.At first start up the ecu calls for the cables to cycle once and if it dosnt do that than it will go into limp mode and on a cold motor would shut down.I have seen a sled run with a bad stator before, not good but it would run.Your problem is the cable.
