2006 GSX question

I have an 06 GSX 6700 HO SDI sled. Lat weekend I noticed that on the speedometer when I had the LED in trip mode that when I pinned the throttle the mileage gone would change to something like -6.5- and then as I would let off, it would change back to the elapsed mileage.
I looked in the manual but could find nothing on this in it. There is not any loss of power or flashing lights or anything. Probably nothing big, but I am curious. Anyone with an idea?

This is normal for BRP speedo's. The odometer display turns to MPH after a certain speed and returns back to odometer...I recall seeing this in the Owners Manual somewhere.

Nothing wrong, normal operation.

Thanks, I couldn't find it on the trail when I stopped, will have to read it more closely.
