I am looking at a Crossfire 800. I have always had a trail sled and ride mostly trail. How would this sled handle for me? I have a 2002 zl 600.

A world of difference! It will take a little getting use to because it is an entirely different ride, but, you will never look back at another shortie again. I went from a 2000 ZL600 to a 06 x-fire 600, haven't looked back since. One thing I will point out, If the crossfire you are considering doesn't have a telescopic steering post & set of mountain bars, make that your first consideration for change, the adjustability is sweet. I found that having to ride any amount of trail after a day out in the backwoods, it's a comfort being able to drop the bars for riding the trail home, also, the hands will stay warm with no need for hand guards.-Mezz

Can you add that to any crossfire? I seem to remember a thread on here before about that.

If you don't mind sharing, let me know about the sled you are looking at. I'm curious what those are going for. What track is on it, miles, etc.?

the post is a EZ change on the 07 and up the 06 and down can be done just a huge PITA.
IMHO if you are going for more trail than off trail the 06/07 x fire skid is the best. more or less what you have on your ZL now.

Thecrossfire is a much better ride, it's like going from a pick-up truck to a cadillac. I went from an 06 f7 to an 06 cf 7 this year, and wow what a difference. Your gonna love it!
