My son bought the subject sled with a 155" track. My question relates to the electrical system and more specifically, electric start.

The sled that he bought does not have EStart but I understand it can be added. Can you tell me what is needed and is the install pretty straight forward?

If you have engine compartment pics that you can email me (or post here if you've figured out how to post pics here) that would be great.

don't know why any parted iq6 would not work.if he is big enough for a 155 he is big enough to start wearing out that rotator cup now

Ring gear on clutch, clutch has to be pulled. Pull exhaust to mount starter gear, flex drive, and starter motor. Battery and battery box needed and mounted, I beleive by the can on those. Not sure if wiring from key to solenoid is needed or if it's already on the loom. You will need a battery cable from solenoid for sure. You will need solenoid as well.

That's just what I recall of top of head. I'm sure there's more.

IMO not even close to worth it. 125psi or less compression, plus add in whatever elevation he's at. A stock 600 at say 8k ft so spin over easier than a weedwacker.

Any IQ should work.

On this same sled last year the starter rope broke and they had to start it the old fashioned way....strap on the primary!

Going to be adding several electrical goodies so a battery is going in there to help power that stuff.

Probably a dumb question......does this sled already have a voltage regulator?

On some polaris, when they come without electric start, the clutch does not have the bolt holes for the ring gear. On my IQ, the kit for electric start actually had a new clutch in it since my clutch had no mounting holes. The shipping cost was why I never got the kit. The kit was discontinued from polaris and only one I found was in AK. They said shipping would be like 150. So if buying used take off, make sure primary clutch has bolt holes.

We always had the policy around our house," If you can't start it then your to young to ride it". Right up until one of my son's who was 12 at the time, started my 800 xcsp.
